Math IIC Book: Barron's and... ?

Barron's and what?

People recommend Sparknotes.

Just print every single page from the website or actually buy the book?

PR's book for Level 1 and 2

barron's (info) and meylani (15 practice tests)

the problem with sparknotes is that all 3 tests have the exact same types of questions. It's almost like they just changed the numbers around and put in different answers

Ahhh.

I've heard of many mistakes on that meylani book.

PR is known for preparing students just enough for 800.

Meylani book... a lot of mistakes, right?

Damn it.

PR is good for flipping through the night before the test.

I always get the feeling that Barrons is disorganized.

you only need barrons, but if youre prone to careless mistakes just get a random book with a bunch of tests to eliminate them

kaplan's good

That crazy guy's, Meylani. Insanely hard tests, but do about 10 of them within a month and you're sure to see improvement! Mistakes were annoying but liveable with. Princeton Review's tests were closest to the real thing, but still too easy for practice.

so meylani = no good? i was wondering about buying his "math IIC with TI" book...is tha tok?

meylani is pretty hardcore stuff, but if u do enough of those tests you're bound to score very well

any more on kaplan?

Kaplan and PR are average difficulty. Barron's practice tests are widely reputed as being harder than the actual test, so scoring high on a Barron's practice test should be a fairly good sign. Can't offer an opinion on Meylani, though.

As for Sparknotes - you get what you pay for, keep that in mind.

PR had a lot of useful information. A lot of the stuff in PR I read the night before was on the test. I think PR is good for content review. I also liked the Sparknotes free practice tests, as a lot of the questions on the real test were similar.

I used Barron's along with Sparknotes. I bought their book of 5 practice tests.

After taking the actual test (and getting an 800 :) ), I think I'd say that it was a bit harder than Sparknotes, but a lot easier than Barron's. So between those two, you should have it covered. Barron's will overprepare you, and Sparknotes will boost your confidence.

I don't know about the Sparknotes online ones, though; I never tried those.

The online tests are the same ones in the book, but for free :)

Oh, ok. Well in that case, it didn't really seem to me like they were all the same... heh I don't know.

Meylani's book is really bad ... first thing its so ugly u wudnt want 2 open it ... and the practice tests are frustrating ... its really disorganized and made me fear the test ...

Okay I used Barron's and it STRESSED ME OUT. I knew Barron's was more difficult but I didn't realize by how much..I had taken pre-cal a year before so pretty much all the stuff mentioned I didn't remember. I failed (literally) the 3 practice tests I could force myself to take but ended up with a 730 with pretty much no actual prep on the real one, thinking it was waaaaaaay easier. So you can get Barron's to overprepare, but I honestly can't remember using any of the Barron's information on the test. If you do use it and don't do well, don't let it get to you...but if you do do well, then it's a good sign.

Have you ever heard of anybody doing well on the first Barron's practice test they took????
