May 2013 SAT Discussion Thread

it was the line 48 reference
@sweeti: the one about which word is “it” refereing to (i think the suburb passage?)

Devonte32896 yes

@ kitkat522

Oh… I guess I got that one wrong then

^i put “insert had before grudgingly”, but I was REALLY unsure about that one

@devonte32896: I put 24, pretty sure that was correct
@futfsu1: i think the curve is going to be better than march and january

I said “only grudgingly.” Then the sentence would say that, “Actually, I did mind and only grudgingly allowed him entrance into my haven.” This emphasizes that she let him in, “only grudgingly.” There’s nothing wrong with allowing entrance.

For the suburbia passage, what was “it” referring to? I answered “beauty”

^i put “only grudgingly” too

was the neurology reading passage experimental???

what did you get for the writing question where it said “Finding ways to do ___ and ___ are among the most pressing challenges.” was it no error or “are among”

Think the math curve will be better?
The march one was terrible

@futfsu1: it was the sound.
Ugh i feel so unsure about this test. It wasn’t impossible but more tricky then I expected…

@bluefrye 1983

@DivisionbyZero See, lots of people are saying “to enter” and TCB might be dumb and say that’s right, but I definitely use the phrase “allow entrance”. I guess it’s just because I’m very prosaic. (lol bam saw that on the test and just looked it up now)

I thought that the irony of the passage was that an underfunded thing wanted to be published by a rich guy or something

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

@ nnstrive

“are among” was the error

@nnstrive i put not error because the sentence was talking about finding ways to do two different things.

the math was easy, SC was harder than usual, passages OK, writing iffy

Science historical anaylers? Two questions: one relating to purpose by second author. Other is compare it to first

for the find ways i put that “are among” was wrong since i thought that “finding ways” was singular.

i also put beauty for the “it” question. Was probably wrong not sure
