May SAT 2011: Writing Section

^that’s what i thought. therefore, i selected “no error.”
I don’t understand why everyone says it’s not parallel. it was an added ending
…skin of Meyer’s lemon, which is edible. how is that incorrect?

its not parallel - however, I AM NOT saying that it contained an error.

Parallelism needs to be accounted for 100% of the time. When describing something, you NEED to say:

Blank is ax, ay, and az…you never say blank is ax, ay, and bz, or any other version of that, which was used in the sentence.

a and b meaning modifiers, or lack of modifiers.

x y and z meaning the adjectives

Has anyone done a consolidated answers yet? There is a consolidated list of agreed answers for CR I see.

Also - what is the conclusion with the meyer lemon? D or E?

Wait a minute, where was the error in the sentence about jazz? I haven’t seen anyone mention that yet.

I think I got 3 No Errors too… Or maybe it was 2…I seriously can’t remember…
But “would of”——>“would have” is definitely correct.

I think the science error i.d had an error. It was like something “also” then “instead” - which don’t work together

i put c or something but im pretty sure its A

thats wrong sorry

itll get you much more than that

guys! how many no errors?? two or three? I had only 2 no errors!!

So with a -2, can what 3 different scores what I expect depending on whether my essay gets a 10, an 11 or a 12?

usually -2/12 is like a 790 or so…

Would a -2/10 drop to below 750?

^^well I’m not sure about that, but hopefully not.
do you remember that question in the improving paragraphs that was along the line of: we once studied the subject of blah blah… and it was to be either ( moved after sentence 7, deleted, or studied about) I chose the last.

the one about the biology textbook?
Yeah i was going to move it at first but NOTHING in the rest of the paragraph referred to that and the sentence immediately following referred to the sentence before.
SO I deleted it lol.

Can anyone confirm this?

theScintillate: I am very confident the sentence had to be deleted for two reasons:

a. There was NOTHING related to that in the rest of the text.
b. If I remember correctly, it was the only sentence in the entire passage that was written in first person.

Awesome thanks!

Yeah, that sentence definitely had to be deleted. I read through the passage before looking at the questions and I knew that deleting it would come up in some form because it didn’t fit at all.

The indeed one was the best transition… Almost positive.
Does anyone remember the question about like medieval tapestries?

Yea it said the rooms were furnished with nice paintings, but had no heat and plain benches.
Something like that, don’t remember what I put
