McGill 2009 Admissions / Scholarships

Hey everybody! If you've been admitted to McGill, post here! If you won a scholarship, pls post your stats :D I heard they're really competitive this year

Admitted to Desautel's Faculty of Management and also to Interfaculty for Arts & Sciences!!

congrats shootingstar! Which are you going to pick?

I'm still waiting for sci

congrats! when you sent in your transcript, were your senior year grades included?

Congrats!
Just wondering, are you Canadian or international? And when did you apply?

Also, are you automatically considered for scholarships or do you have to apply for them yourself?

thanks!! good luck to everyone!!

sailor - i'm waiting till april to hear from all my schools, but i'm thinking arts and sciences.

neonblue - i sent my transcript in at the end of october so it doesn't reflect grades from senior year...it just lists all the courses that i'm taking.

esgee - i'm Canadian living in the US. i applied online at the end of sept but sent everything in by the end of oct. there's two types of scholarships - major and basic. For a basic, you don't need to apply - you will be automatically considered. for major, there's an application to fill out...check out their website for more details. the deadline has passed for some places though.

so would McGill want a mid-year report from you?

Hey shootingstar! I'm a Canadian living in the US also, lol. Did your family persuade you to apply to McGill?

neonblue: I called McGill; they just said to send mid-year grades as soon as possible. For US schools, I think that they have to be in by sometime around mid-march or so.

lol sorry for the triple post. If this thread actually survives, let's make it into a Rez thread as well. If your admitted, which Rez are you picking / why?

Also, for those accepted/notified, McGill emailed you about checking your status right?

Admitted to Desautel's Faculty of Management (BCom).

Esgee, yes that's right.

Could more accepted people post their stats, please? :)

Did you receive an e-mail notification that a decision had been made or did you simply look on Minerva and find that you had been accepted.

^Email notification according to previous posters on this thread.

Ha.
I was looking everyday on Minerva.
Every. Single. Day.
And then I got "Admissions Decision Notification" in my inbox.
So... I wasted a lot of time.

I wonder how many people actually get the major scholarship... haven't heard of any recipient. Please post stat if you get any of the two scholarships! =)

So I checked the Minerva page today and just noticed, in the applications materials checklist, a box marked Interim/Midterm Grades.

So I guess McGill will not be making their final decision until they see my first semester grades. Does this mean they consider me to be a weak candidate? (Since other people appear to have been admitted without the need for interims.)
