What meal plan is the best for a business school student at Nova? Money isn't a factor, but I want the ability to eat anywhere, without worrying about running out. Could anyone give advice on which package is the best? I was thinking the SGA Inflation Fighter 20. Any opinions are welcomed!

I have the one for 20 meals a week and I have never ran out. But if you are in the business school, definitely get the exchange upgrade because you will be there a lot and it is convenient for lunch especially because many of your classes will be in Bartley. But if you want to be safe, you can always get unlimited and then change it spring semester so you know which one will be best for you.

I had a question about the unlimited plan. Unlimited in that you can go to a dinning hall as many times as you like? For example could my son grab an early dinner, go workout and then eat another dinner later. As it stands now he is around 5-6 meals a day.

I just finished my freshman year, started with the unlimited and about a week into school switched to the 19 meal plan. I recommend the 19 meal plan because you can use up to 6 MPEs per day which allow you to use meals at Cafe Nova, Belle Aire Terrace, Holy Grounds, Second Storey and other a la carte locations while the unlimited and 20 meal plan only allow you to use 2 MPEs per day (but unlimited visits to the main dining halls - dougherty, donahue and st. marys). It was a better decision for me to get the 19 because I preferred the food at the MPE locations more, and I usually ended the week with about 2-3 meals left over. Most of my friends with the unlimited wish they had gotten the 19 meal plan and many switched for second semester.

honestly, get unlimited. I wish I could have gotten the unlimited plan because there were times when I ran out of my 19 meals, and had to starve. Starving is not fun.

If Money is not an issue and you want to eat anywhere whenever you want, then it makes most sense to forego a meal plan and just pay for each meal. Unfortunately, none of the meal plans (even the “Unlimited”) offer enough flexibility for you to eat however much you want, whenever you want, wherever you want. The Unlimited meal plan limits you to two MPEs a day, so even if you get the Bartley Exchange uprade, you can only eat there a maximum of two times per day. Unlimited meal plan only entitles you unlimited entry into one of the three dining halls. Mathematically, the Bartley exchange upgrade is logical only if you plan on eating there more than 4-5 times a week- which should be easy for a business student.

I had the Unlimited Meal Plan my Freshman year and found the 2 MPE/day restriction too inflexible for my needs- I prefer eating at the A La carte locations like Connelly Center and Second Storey because the Dining Halls have inconvenient hours, especially if you take a night classes and you cannot take food to-go.

I switched to the 19 Meal Plan sophomore year and found that this had the most flexibility, since you are allowed 5 MPEs per day and 19 total meals a week. You probably won’t need all those meals as most students eat off campus on weekends or order delivery at least once or twice on a weekday. I’ve never ran out of meals and I eat a lot. The reduced cost for the 19 Meal Plan will be offset by the times you eat off campus or order delivery (which I recommend because there are a lot of good places to eat around the area, in philly, or by KOP mall that are easily accessible by train). So really the main advantage is flexibility due to the 5 MPEs/day.

I would recommend the 19 Meal plan with the Bartley Exchange Upgrade for your particular needs.

if you have the money, go to for unlimited. I have 19 meals and I always run out of food and feel hungry during the night. lost like 10 lbs in 1 semester. I’d switch to unlimited, but my parents claim that I should be fine with 19 meals and are already annoyed at paying full tuition with no FA…
