Which one do you prefer? I have been using mechanical for the past couple of years but recently decided to switch to wooden and it has been working out good for me. I seem to have more control. Another advantage is if your pencil is dull you can easily fill out a full paper for those numbered paper assignments. :D

I love mechanical pencils. I have a geeky love of mechanical lead. The pencil lead is never so infuriatingly dull like wooden pencils, plus so long as you keep the barrel full, it pretty much never seems to run out for me. I hate wooden pencils because you always have to get up and sharpen them.

I'm all for mechanical. :)

I like wooden.

I lend out and don't get back and misplace pencils like there's no tomorrow, and ~20 wooden pencils cost only ~$1, so I use wooden...

Ticonderoga #2 wooden pencils.

ive always liked mechanical, no sharpening, dull pencils have their place, like scantrons, but otherwise they **** me off

Black Warrior #2 wooden pencils...oh yeaaaaaaa

I haven't used wooden pencils in like six years, ever since my friend introduced me to the joys of mechanical pencils. I HATED wooden pencils. I absolutely hate writing with dull lead - the way it looks and feels actually physically grosses me out. My lead would get dull very fast when I used wooden pencils because I was constantly writing or doodling in class. It's a pain to get up 5 times a class period to sharpen your pencils (and half the time those sharpeners didn't work anyway) and I always lost the small personal sharpeners. Once I started using mechanical pencils I never looked back. The lead never goes dull! It's wonderful! Plus they don't have the obnoxious tendancy to roll off your desk and they're more comfortable to hold.

Ticonderoga FTW. Id use a mechanical pencil if it had an unlimited supply of lead with it :)

Wooden. I always break mechanical lead.

Mechanical. I've grown so accustomed to them that wooden ones feel weird now.

I don't use wooden.

Infact, I mostly don't use pencil...I use pen WHENEVER I can (even in math sometimes although I get in trouble feh)

And that level ABOVE the pen is when I type WHENEVER I can...so much faster.

I used to love wooden since they're more comfortable in my hand, but my college didn't have pencil sharpeners anywhere, so I had to switch to mechanical. I was so used to pushing hard with my wooden pencil that I was using 1.3mm lead for a while. I still prefer 0.9mm lead, though I can manage with 0.7mm when I'm in math or some other class with lots of sub/superscripts.

Haha I'm a .5 mm type of girl. It seems to make my handwriting a lot better. When I use wooden pencils, I can barely read my own handwriting...

I have tons of mechanical pencils and prefer them over wooden.

I almost always use a .7mm mechanical pencil, but I prefer .5mm. Wooden pencils are nice too, but only if they have good lead [that comes out really dark-ish] and are SHARP.

Me too.

Mechanical for writing, wooden for drawing.

Mechanical pencils are way better!!!

Mechanical FTW! I refuse to use anything but mechanical unless I absolutely can't.
