<p>Hey guys, I was wondering if you could tell me how close Rice is to the super-huge "biggest medical center in the world" Texas Medical Center that I've been reading about. Also, does being near the Texas Medical Center help premeds get medical experience like job shadowing, volunteering opportunities, internships or even jobs at the various hospitals during the school year or summer? Does anyone have any first-hand experience?</p>

<p>Well, I can help you with the first question. It is literally across the street from the east side of Rice. One edge of the Texas Medical Center is along S. Main. <p>the Career Services Center helps with internships. they have listings of internships students have done. my friend also got a job through the Employment Office, which connects students with alumni for jobs.</p>
<p>Yes, there are many students who get internships and otherwise benefit greatly from the Texas Medical Center across the street.</p>
