Hi guys!

Is it possible to be a Medill student while on the pre-med track? If so, do I need to indicate this any where on the Common Application?

Do any of you have any insight to how difficult it is to fulfill both the journalism major and pre-med requirements?

Thank you for your help!

You can apply to med school with any major but med schools will have many specific requirements around science classes. Medill’s may not even have a science requirement so you would have to use all of your elective credits for science classes. I think it will be difficult but probably not impossible. It seems like an odd major for someone interested in medical school. Weinberg might be a better way to go.

I don’t know about how easy it would be to take the premed requirements from Medill, but I don’t see your major as “odd.” So many premed students major in stuff like music, English, and social sciences nowadays. As for the difficulty, it would probably be high, but possible.
