D applied RD, when do you find out about merit aid/scholarships? Sounds like the RD notices are coming out soon. Wondering if the scholarship info will come with it or if we then have to find out about scholarships. Assuming of course that she gets in...

If your daughter gets accepted the scholarship notification will be with her acceptance letter.

Same problem over here! So do we have to wait until we get the mail? No way to learn it online?

Merit aid is posted on the website with the decision, Need based aid is mailed in a package later

I don’t see anything on the website about merit aid.

Merit aid is only posted if they give it to you :/

I was accepted to GW last night as well as the University Honors Program. However, there was no merit aid listed on my account. This seems a little weird to be when taking into consideration that I was accepted to honors. Has anyone else had this happen to them or know why this may be? Of course I am more than thankful to have been accepted to GW, especially in their honors program, but merit aid is crucial in order for me to attend.

@kmoody - My daughter was also accepted yesterday to the University Honors Program and had no merit aid listed on her portal. We were surprised and disappointed.

But was there scholarship money listed on her acceptance letter (half way down, prior to the honors section)?

npcx723 are you talking about an actual physical letter? I wasn’t aware those were sent out yet. If not, then for me no, there was nothing listed on the letter on my online portal.

@npcx723 and kmoody I have not received a physical letter in snail mail yet. But there was no scholarship/merit listed on the online portal. Hopefully the physical letter will have good news - should receive something formal in the mail next week.

My D was also accepted. She said she will receive $10k scholarship every year for four years but it has to be more to it than that.

Sorry for the delayed response. I meant on the online acceptance letter. My D’s had a section that talked about scholarships.

My D said she will be notified on 3/29 about financial aid. How is the financial aid for OOS students? does anyone know? also how is the Columbia college for arts and science? I know GW is know for political science and law. thanks

One of my friends only received $10,000 per year in merit aid. That very well might be it.

Merit aid is shown on the online site.

Need-based might appear only on the printed letter.

You should try to get the financial aid office to reassess your situation. Likely won’t do any good, but there’s a slight chance of it.

I didn’t receive a dime in aid. $10K might be a pittance, but at least you got a little!

P.S.-- Don’t attend GWU, or anywhere, if you have to pay $200,000 in cash and loans!
