Merit aid?

Did anyone receive information about merit aid?

(Sorry for starting a new thread, but it didn't seem to fit anywhere else!)

I got $20,000 / year dean scholorship... but not Honors Program??? probably not enough to make me turn down BC Honors if Fordham won't let me into their honors program

CBA321: Did u check ur 'Financial Aid Summary' on OASIS? Merit aid may be posted there.

I sent in my CSS Profile late -- I had issues with collegeboard (I was sending it and somehow it charged me a $5 processing fee but didn't process any of the schools?) and my financial aid info was missing from every school. Now it'll take longer for aid and I'm pretty sure that I won't get a good package next year.. sucks.

CBA, when did you fill out the CSS financial? I totally forgot about that, I need to fill it out today. Do you think that they will still give me aid? I filled out the fafsa in early Feburary, but totally forgot about the CSS.

I filled it out a few weeks ago. Did they send you a letter telling you they still needed the financial aid profile from you? It said in the letter that even if they determiend you had need they may be unable to fulfill it.

No i haven't gotten any notice if i needed it or not. I just filled out a few minutes ago anyway. I'm def. not going to get alot of aid.

Did anyone else receive merit money yet? I'm hoping they just haven't sent all of them... cause unless I get a significant amount I don't think I'll be able to go... =</p>

On OASIS under Financial Aid Summary it says for my S "Your package is not yet complete" and he hasn't received anything in the mail, accept of course his acceptance letter with which is a piece of paper that says Financial Aid packages will be sent in early April. So, I am guessing he is getting some aid but the amount hasn't been determined. academically he qualifies for some of the Fordham scholarships but so do lots of others I imagine, so they must have to weigh need against merit. That's my assumption anyway. If you don't hear in a week, call and ask, that's what we're going to do.

I read on Fordham's "Question/answer" site that those who qualify for aid are the top 10% of applicants and are usually numbers 1 and 2 in their class? So... 10% of applicants are at the very top of their class? That doesn't seem right to me based on the statistics I've read (and seeing as I got in at 23% in my class!) ... yeah, if what I read is correct, I'm not getting anything.

my d was offered 7000 loyola Scholarship plus 11,300 Fordham Grant (Total of 18,300) but still very expensive to finance the rest of the balance. I don't want her to carry to steep of a loan after graduation. We are thinking it over and comparing w/ 2 other schools. But grateful for the award from Fordham.

Anyone else receive merit aid information? I'm hoping they aren't done with it because I reallllyyy am depending on some.... :/

I called the Financial Aid office yesterday and it turned out that they were missing a form we didn't know we had to send (Business/Farm Supplement) and they never received copies of my taxes. They said I would be receiving a letter this week requesting the missing documents and would learn next week whether my S received aid or not. So, if you're not sure, you might want to call and make sure they have whatever they need to make their decision.
