D got $5000/yr President's scholarship. (We're in-state, so no mention of increasing at same rate as OOS tuition.)

AKittka -- what was your SAT? My son has not heard from them (I certainly HOPE he does). He did get the paperwork for CP Scholars the other day and had to send in his choice of programs.

Ginab591, that's interesting that UMd is reaching out to out of state students, it certainly makes the school more interesting to us.
My S never had an interview, his SAT was 2150.

Twin and I got a 12k presidential scholarship today- OOS from NYC, also invited to a summer program for college of life sciences. However, although this is still -12k from tuition, I still can get financial aid based on income right? I have an EFC of around $3,500, does anyone know how much money UMD would give me (rough estimate?)

Received $8,000 President's Scholarship! Also hoping for more information on college-specific scholarships? (especially engineering)

top 5%... 2240

I got President's in the mail today, 12k/year, OOS, and mine's postmarked 3/10 as well.

I just got a $5000 a year President's scholarship with the OOS tuition bump. This now makes Maryland just as affordable as an in-state school! (For some reason it had already stated that I got 3950 a year online, so I assume this is on top of that).

EDIT: My financial aid page is also blank now...I might have to call in.

I got the 12K
I have a 3.95 unweighted and 2280 SAT

BtheB44, that's great. you obviously got honors, gemstone or scholars?

Wow. 5k? 12k? that's ridiculous. I got the Dean's scholarship for 1.5k for the first year and I'm pretty cised. 12k would make tuition almost nothing for me (in-state).

12K is only for OOS

Just wondering what are some of your stats (to everyone who got/didn't get merit aid)

I got all 3
I have to choose between gemstone and scholars if I matriculate.

lol rock2refused

only a marylander would say cised :]

i got 5k presidents

haha feral24 is so true. that is such a maryland thing

Benito - my daughter was admitted into Honors and Honors Humanities and so far, no $$$. Her friend (also in CA) received $2K/year - declared in some science major (can't remember which one.) I find it hard to believe that those in H or HH won't get $$$.

BTW - daughters stats:
ACT - 32
W GPA - 4.6 UW GPA - 3.95
