I am OOS and have obviously not heard back from them yet for acceptance, but I did receive an email yesterday regarding scholarships and saying they are very impressed and interested in my application! So my hopes are up that this means goods things, but it is kind of silly considering I don’t know yet if I got in. And at the time I got the email I wasn’t sure how many people they sent this to…is it really only 100??

Sorry also, in reply to “It appears that the invitation letters for the top 100 candidates for a scholarship day on March 18 have been sent out,” I mentioned that I got an email about scholarships but it did not say anything about a “scholarship day” so maybe I got something different?

I received an invitation letter a few days ago. I haven’t received any emails about it though. I am an instate student and was accepted to UD and the Honors Program about a month ago.

Should transfer students receive the same e-mail? Not interested in the honors program. I only applied back in the beginning of January. I’m getting very anxious.

congratulations Tufted!!!

I did not mean to mislead. I am not sure whether all the letters have been sent out. In addition, I believe UD has other kinds of scholarships.

As for the Distinghished Scholars Weekend, the letter indicates that there are five types of scholarships to compete for. Basically, four of them (Alumni Scholars, Lewis Lewin Stark Scholars, , Francis Alison Scholars, and 1743 Scholars) are full tuition scholarships. Alumni Scholar awards also include some money for text book, $3,000 for study abroad, and up to $2,000 for an activity project. The Eugene duPont Memorial Scholars includes full tuition, room/board, fees, enrichment activity ($2,500) and some money for books.

Hopefully, this will be helpful. Good luck to everyone! If you want to know more, you may call UD.

if i didnt get invited to the distinguished scholars weekend, does anyone know the maximum amount of merit scholarship i could possibly get [best case scenario]? like, besides full-tuition scholarships, is the next highest amount only like $5000? any information would help… thanks :)

My D received an invitation this week for distinguished scholars weekend at Delaware. She is an out of state student with a 4.0 average, 34 ACT .
