<p>I applied for merit scholarships at Scripps, and I know that if I somehow become a finalist I will get a letter, but will I get a letter if I don't? I wasn't sure if they'd tell those of us who didn't make it that we didn't make it, or just not tell us anything. Thanks!</p>
<p>I think they contact everybody, whether or not they are a finalist, around the same time.</p>
