When do we hear if we are finalists for any academic scholarships? Do they tell us if we didn't make it as a finalist? thanks :)

Bump ...

If not selected for academic James E. Scripps scholarship interviews on campus -- is there just silence from Scripps or some sort of consolation letter like hope-you-still-want-to-come-here-even-if-not-selected???

I believe the college will notify all applicants of their status within the next week or two. Good luck!

thanks so much!

calikent, my D received her invitation to the JES weekend 2-10 through 2-12. She will make it work with her BBall schedule. They'll pay for meals, flight, and hotel, too. She's pretty excited.

thanks for letting me know. i actually got my letter yesterday too, saying i am do not qualify for any scholarships. it fine tho because now my decision to attend stanford is that much easier! good luck to your D with the scholarship!

Daughter #1 has just been named a JES finalist. Does anyone have an idea of the odds of a finalist actually getting a JES scholarship?

Thanks,

Dave

sheaftosser, check the archives but I'm pretty comfortable saying @ 33-50% of the women that go are awarded scholarships.

I believe 100 make finalists, and there are 38 scholarships, so I would guess about 38%. Good luck!

They give more than 38, but 38(ish) is the number of students who accept the scholarship and enroll.

About the Academic Scholarships at Scripps:

Did everyone who applied for these scholarships and submit their applications by Nov1st send their apps to the rest of their schools at the same time?

Is it possible on common app to submit to one school for a certain deadline, make changes if needed, and then submit to the rest?
