Mid year report?

I’ve read on a couple different threads and forums that Cornell doesn’t really look at the mid year report. Is it true?

where you find this information from?

I have the same question. How important is the mid year report exactly??

Mid year report is very important. It’s the last report they will see before they make their decision. From the report, they will determine if an applicant could do college level work.

do you know that for a fact @oldfort

Yes.

My midyear report would actually help me a lot so thats a plus for me

@LlenrocPeoh Same

One of my nephews didn’t take any APs until senior year due to timing and requisites when he transferred from an international school to his US school. His fall mid-semester grades were all As. It showed the adcoms that even though he didn’t take that many APs, he was capable of college level work. He was admitted ED. Likewise, if you are applying RD, your latest grades, which is in the midyear report, are the last grades adcoms will see. You want them to know you are capable of doing college level work. This is especially the case for ED deferrers. Sometimes adcoms want to see another semester’s work before they make the final decision.

In my older daughter’s case, she had to send in her spring mid-semester grades to get off 2 WLs. Until you get your decisions, it is good to keep up your grades.
