Hi,
My school doesn't give out midyear grades, only 1st and 2nd quarter grades. Should I average the 1st and 2nd quarter grades and submit that grade? Or just mail them the 1st and 2nd quarter grades?
Also, what about trimesters? Should I only send the 1st trimester?
Thanks.

Wow, this forum has turned into Detroit ever since Jan 1st.

According to Matt McGann- Director of Admissions,

If your transcript provides quarter grades but not a semester grade, you should list both quarter grades. For example:
Biology A, A-
…or…

AP Economics 96 / 92

If your school uses a trimester schedule, please use your first trimester grades. We know that in most cases, your second trimester grades will not be available for a while. You can note in the Midyear Updates box that you are reporting first trimester grades, and also when your second trimester grades will be available.

^ However it should be the school’s counselor sending the information, not the student/applicant.

I believe that’s incorrect. The school counselor sends in an official transcript at the time the application is due, by November for EA, and by January for RA. The midyear report is self reported by the student.
The counselor only sends another official transcript after the student’s final grades are recorded and only to the school that the student chooses to attend.
