Midyear Report

I know this topic has been discussed to death, but I needed a couple opinions regarding my situation.

While I did very well senior year first marking period, difficult family situations have caused my second marking period grades to be not too shabby. Here are my projected semester grades:

AP Lit (93)
AP Euro (92)
AP Calc (83)
AP Spanish (88)
Physics (95)

I already got accepted into Boston College EA which is one of my top choices (and I know these grades are not nearly bad enough for my offer to be rescinded, that is not one of my fears) but I still need to hear back from my other top choices of NYU, Vassar, Tufts, and Brandeis. Would these grades significantly alter my chances at these schools? Should I have my GC explain my family situation for the downturn in grades in Spanish and Calc? Or will colleges understand that my schedule is rigorous and recognize that? It should be noted that, because of AP weighting, my official GPA will actually rise midyear as opposed to being lowered (my GPA is currently like a 95.74 and this would bump it up to a 95.79 or something like that). I am just used to getting straight A’s, even in AP classes, so I’m probably just paranoid.

I understand that these questions are highly subjective and there is no obvious, clear-cut answer, but any opinions that you guys have would be much, much appreciated. Thank you.

You’re being paranoid. You’re fine.

@T26E4 I figured as much.
