Sorry if this is a dumb question, but are you guys all minority students, or are some of you white/Asian too? I can’t tell if the topic is still focused solely on minority students.

I’m curious, too. Are you all talking about the BSAI weekend or the Latino Student Recruitment weekend? Anyone know when the invites will come out for the Latino weekend? Keep my fingers crossed I receive one!

I was talking about BSAI. I’m pretty sure BSAI is only for minority students…since it’s called the Black Student Alliance Invitational. I’m a minority.

Okay, thanks for clarifying And congrats!

Duke’s offering to fly me in for Blue Devil wkend (4/15-16) as a likely. That must mean I’m not being considered for any scholarships that interview on other weekends, right? : ( Sadly, I may as well not go if that’s the case.

Why must it mean you’re not being considered? That’s cool you’re going to go to both:) Did Duke offer that? I’m not really sure if I will but I probably will because the 17-18 is during my spring break. Anyways, I still didn’t get anything in the mail. :/

just got the BSAI email! Im super excited and all, and dont mean to sound whiney, but isnt this kind of late notice?? But whatever. Im stoked. And John Legend’s gonna perform??? this is wicked.

I’m still wondering if anyone on this thread has received an invitation to the Latino student recruitment weekend this year. And do you know which weekend it will be?

I’ve been invited to several other schools minority recruitment weekends, and am wondering if I’ll be invited to this one. I’m hoping!

Does anyone know whether Duke sends out BSAI invitation to all accepted URM, and If you do not receive an invitation to BSAI, you are not one of the admitted students?

No. In years past, URM’s without BSAI invites have been accepted.

Does anyone have any sort of idea of what percentage of URM/black students that didn’t get the BSAI invite get admitted?

I’m still trying to understand the BSAI weekend. Is it only for black students or are other URM invited? There used to be a separate Latino student recruitment weekend at Duke and I’ve yet to hear anyone mention it this year.

BSAI is for black students, though there will probably be some Latinos there because it’s possible to be Black and Latino. I guess they got rid of LSRW for this year.

I just got the “likely” e-mail for the LSRW! I understand that nothing is set on stone, but what could actually hold a student back from being accepted come decision notification? If my question makes sense.

I got one too!!! And I’m wondering the same thing. Is this considered a likely letter?

I’m pretty sure that’s the Latino likely letter, but this is my first one! Does this mean I’m definitely being admitted?

I cannot imagine they would invite students to attend these events if they were not accepted to the university. LSRW is on April 14-17, and by then students would have heard their official admissions decision already. Why would they invite you to a “recruitment weekend” after decisions are released if you weren’t accepted?

Case in point, I’m almost certain this is a likely letter.

Ahh no, I really really want to go, but I can’t! I’m going on a fieldtrip with my school from the 13th to the 15th… there’s no way that I’ll be able to attend the last half of the events is there? Because it says you have to be on campus between 8 am and 3 pm on the 14th.

Unless that field trip is to the moon, I’d ditch it for Duke.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve decided to do. But when I click on the link from the email, I get directed to some login page and I don’t know what to do… Can anyone help me?
