Missing a report card?

I'm planning to apply for the 9th grade next year, for entrance in the fall of '10. So, I was going through my old report cards and found all of them for grade 6 and 7, except 1! I'm missing the second term report card for grade 6.. However, this fall, I'm moving onto high school (here, it's grade 8-12) and I'm not sure if my elementary will still have my records. Ordinarily, do they keep student records/reports? Is there any way I can explain this to BSes? Did anybody else lose a report card? D:

Lesson learned: Organization, organization, organization.. x_x

I moved to a new state between 6th and 7th grade so I don’t know If they have my 6th grade report card because I sure don’t.
In my 6th grade school we got report cards online and some of that stuff is still in storage.

hmmm do u know what a transcript is?

It shows ur entire grades for one year

All you have to do is go to your old school and ask for an official transcript of you grades for 6 - 8 grade or whatever grade your in (sorry wasnt paying attention)

Im sure they wouldn’t trash ur old files becuase u were just in the school last year

Im assuming they would throw them out after u get out of high school so no need to worry

The official transcripts are sent directly from your current and/or previous schools. The boarding school will not accept report cards from you directly as part of your application.

Thanks, guys. :D

@ kali: oh dear. so i have to request transcripts from 2 schools, right? and then i have to ask them to individually mail them out for me… ? can i just ask for the transcripts and then send them along with the application or do they have to be sent out from the school? x_x

thanks again!

The school usually mails out a copy of your transcript, your actual transcript is mailed out to the school you will be attending.

Your current and previous school(s) have to send the transcripts directly to the school(s) to which you are applying. The school(s) that you are applying to will not accept them if the transcripts are not sent directly from the school.

Also, ask your current and previous school(s) to mail a copy of your transcripts to you for your files.

Ah, okay. So I should just go up to my previous school’s office and basically ask them to mail out my transcript to a bunch of schools, and give them a sheet with addresses for those schools? How did you guys go about in doing that? ^^;

Dive: When the 2010 applications are sent out (probably not until September), they will contain school report sheets with instructions to your current school. This is not something you need to gather paperwork for: your school will be asked to send directly to any school to which you’re applying a school-certified official transcript (ordinarily of the full prior two year’s grades). If a student has changed schools in the relevant time frame, the previous school should have transferred its records to the current school so that all of this can be done by your current school and the schools to which you’re applying won’t be flooded with disjointed paperwork. So all you should need to do is bring the school report form to your current school in the fall.

Ah, okay! Thanks so much, Momalot. That makes a lot of sense… =]
