and just couldnt stand the suspense...
so i emailed one of the ppl from the program..
and he was pretty happy to tell me that i got in....</p>

<p>80 ( 40 boys and 40 girls, both of em boys) and i woulve gotten in i was told, but there was a problem with the date i sent the application, so they gave me fly in</p>

taking AP calc BC and got a 5 in AB
President of MESA(mathematics engineering science achievement)
President of CSF(california scholarship)
i got a 187 on my PSAT
1650 on my SAT(i took it again after the app deadline and got a 1760)
i play for my school's varsity tennis team
i am captain of my schools SOLAR CUP team</p>
<p>and u should know that getting in to MITES isnt all about stats</p>
<p>the essays are EXTREMELY important</p>
<p>in my case....
i have a real passion for the math and sciences and love building engineering projets....which i do a lot in MESA</p>
<p>u had to really sell urself as someone with potential to become an engineer....</p>
<p>and of course...
the letters of rec were really important...</p>
<p>the teachers who wrote my letters knew me pretty well...
so that really helped</p>
<p>I see, thanks BeAn. It really seems like the essays and letters are more important. I feel like I sold myself well enough on my essays as well, and one of my teacher wrote a 7 page letter of recommendation(typed). So now I feel slightly more confident!
I really would like to email mites, but the result is going to come tomorrow or the next day, so it really doesn't matter anymore...a couple more days is nothing compared to the months we've all waited

im the only one from my school who applied to MITES
and its definitly in the top 5 of most crowded schools in the country</p>
<p>yea, I was the only one in my school who applied. Hardly anyone really even knew of it. I simply stumbled across a flyer of it by chance. I also live in a small place(compared to cities like NY) and my school isn't the best either, this is reassuring...</p>
