MIT MITES Summer 2014

I only know the first 69 digits of pi lol

Come on guys… I tent is totally cheating lol. Personally, I would take rope over a tent because then I could go mountain climbing or tie huge leaves together to make a tent. Rope just seems so much more useful. A tent can be only used for 1 thing: as a shelter, but I guess you could tie it up to make a water collection for when it rains.

And I only know the first 10 digits of pi, so @Fredsterboard‌ and @Mathmaticious‌ , you both have me beat XD

I’d never give up rope. I’d probably just exchange the steel wool and 9volt battery for a tent and a flint/steel (assuming a tent wasn’t cheating) . The reason why I went for the steel wool and 9 volt battery though was because I wanted to be a little more macgyveresque lol.

You guys are making me thinking of “Life of Pi” with this talk about lost in an island and digits of pi ;P. I’d take a lion with me if I can’t have a tent ;D.

I mean tiger…

Lol, I’ve only memorized the first 9 digits of pi…
And speaking of Life of Pi, do we have any movie fanatics here? (More specifically, fans of the 80s/90s films?)

@Sasora Shawshank Redemption is one of the greatest movies of the 90s. Gave me feelings I’ve never felt before haha

lionking #1994

Since the island situation itself is not an idealistic scenario to be in, I find it perfectly justifiable to create a seemingly unrealistic yet ideal list of items.

  1. The Force
    That is all.

Pulp Fiction (1994)
Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Spirited away (2001) (I know it doesn’t fit the time period but it’s a good movie)
Blade Runner (1982)

If we’re talking about memorizing digits of pi, I have either exactly or more than 350 digits memorized on a given day.

1) Pulp Fiction
2) The Mask
3) Home Alone

(More to come…)

Matilda (1996)

Not 1990s, but Donnie Darko anyone?

I liked Donnie Darko

Just saw Donnie Darko the other day, pretty good. How about Se7en, Saving Private Ryan, and T2?
