MIT MITES Summer 2014

I hope that I get a chance to meet you all at MITES! Decisions should be out in 2 days! excitement and anxiety are all I feel lol! :-SS

@SineSquareSaw‌ I feel you. I’m in the same position for both your dual enrollment and rejection situation.

Yeah, it is a real bummer.

It isn’t even that the classes cost money that makes it so bad, my “local” community college is a 30 minute drive so that would be a lot of gas money over a semester.

My school doesn’t really care about the “smart kids”.

I would absolutely love to meet all of you! It’d be so much fun! I hope some of us get in

I was looking at the forum from last year and they got their decisions as late as 8:00 pm EST and midnight PST

Let’s hope that history doesn’t repeat itself

Lol so were basically waiting for either 8pm tonight or tomorrow night. Ahhhhh

I believe in tonight!

Holy ■■■■… so midnight tonight!!!

I keep having false alarms because of other college spamxD

I’m ready to be sad

All the mock exams, real AP exams, and studying for physics C and BC Calc plus MITES anxiety = fetal position in a corner.

I actually think I want MOSTEC and E2@MIT more now (instead of MITES) because I have a very very nice paid internship offer waiting for me now… Plus Girls State and Questbridge conferences!

And trust me, I’m struggling eternally with the upcoming AP exams too. And also finals. My school have finals right after APs… ugh. (and then, after finals, there’s the SAT subject tests + ACT fun…)

Did any of you take the ACT yesterday??

I took the ACT just Wednesday! And my finals are also after AP tests, but my SAT subject tests are May 2nd, so this is my last weekend to study! fingers crossed

My teachers made a Mock Ap exams and made that our final. So I get to study for finals before Ap exams and then the real thing after. It’s so stressful. I really dislike Physics C, it’s so much work to such knowledge in a certain Niche in which I don’t think I want to pursue. I really need to start preparing for subject tests and ACT. Can anyone verify the rumour that ACT is easier than the SAT?

@luckystar886 what did you think of it?! I think everyone had the same form yesterday but I’m not sure. I was so confused on the math problem where you had to find the shortest side of the 2 triangles ahhhh

@NanoEngineer‌
The ACT is a different test. Some find it easier, some find it harder.

From my experience, ACT was a much bigger time crunch and caused a lot of anxiety for me, but I scored better on ACT (granted, not amazing)

I got a 2030 on SAT and 32 on ACT

@NanoEngineer it’s different for everyone but the ACT is easier for me. IMO the curve is harsher but at least you aren’t deducted for incorrect answers. The ACT is more of a straightforward test whereas some argue that the SAT is designed to trick you. Just my 2 cents.

Good luck everybody! I hope you guys make it :)
