Hey guys! Fellow applicant of MITES here, and QuestBridge Scholar as of today as well! Congrats to everyone that got in! I’ve been watching the thread for a while now, and I can’t wait to meet you guys, whether it be from QuestBridge or MITES! Good luck, guys!

Does anyone else dual enroll?

I dual enroll! I love being able to leave school early. Plus getting college credits is great.

My school is a dual enrollment program. Half college half highschool. I’ll have my AA by the end of 12th grade (even though doesn’t really mean anything since many colleges don’t accept dual enrollment cred lol)

I take college and highschool classes in college.

My school isn’t dual enrolled, but I personally dual enrolled in precalc 2 years ago and this year I dual enrolled in an aerospace engr class.

My school won’t allow dual enrollment

I dual enrolled for Spanish 3 honors! And pre-calc like someone else said. We don’t have a lot of dual enrollment at my school. And just took the ACT’s at my school! Felt pretty good but had to rush the Science, so kinda nervous for that ->_<-

Anyway, MITES results in 2 days!!! Who else is excited/nervous?

I’m not super anxious because I was accepted into another program (which I will probably ditch if I get into MITES), but I’m slightly nervous because I put forth a lot of effort into my app and I want to see if it pays off…

Super anxious because I don’t know what to expect

I WANT TO KNOW
Come on MITES!

And I took general psychology, English, government and econ this year at college. This summer if I don’t go to MITES I’ll take advanced psychology, English 2, and anatomy. Then I’ll take a bunch more during senior year. With my AP classes I should get a lot of college credits. And the college I want to go to accepts the classes I’m taking, which is really awesome.

I duel enroll in addition to IB and AP. I’ve taken Intro to business, marketing, sales and advertisement, financial accounting, statistics and US government 1 and 2. Next year I’m taking two, calc II or III, depending on MITES/how comfortable I feel with calc II topics, and Physics II or some business class

(Next year Fall). For spring I might not take any so I can focus on IB tests or I might take some advanced math class but not two classes. Though, I think I might be able to get an AA if I take two more gen. Ed. Classes but I’m not sure if it’s worth anything. If I can, then I’ll probably take the gen ed classes in spring.

@emywemy610 where do you want to go?

I want to go to BYU in Provo, Utah. Both of my parents went there, both of my brothers go there, and my sister in law goes there. It’s been pretty much expected of me to go there haha but I love the school so much. The campus is beautiful and I love the area. I can do so much hiking, biking, skiing, rock climbing, and ice climbing there! They also just remodeled the dorms, so they’re really nice now. Its a pretty good school too haha

If you got excepted to MIT, would you still go to BYU?

My school has dual enrollment but I can’t afford to do it =/ kinda lame.

And I am crazy jealous of those of you who are already accepted into a program!

I’ve gotten three rejections already…

@luckstar888 it would depend on how much it would cost. It’d be amazing to go to MIT though!

@SineSquareSaw your dual enrollment isn’t free? My school pays for the college classes. And I’ve been rejected by a program already so I get you.

I don’t know if I’ve said this already, but I really hope you all get in. I’d say good luck, but this isn’t based on luck. You all seem like really amazing people that deserve to go, and hopefully I’ll be able to meet you there! Even if we don’t get in, I’m sure we can figure out how to make our summer just as productive/amazing:)
