Haha listen @quietspectator , you’re just like me (and I’m sure everyone else who’s been accepted)! It was an extremely selective field so I think we should be awfully grateful for the fact that we got in to a program that so many other people deserve to be in as well. None of us are going to be coming in knowing each other, but don’t let that hold you back!! It’s all part of the experience, just like college will be, and I expect a very tight-knit group of students to form. Hoping to see you there in June!
@TrueChief23 Thank you for offering your perspective. I’m extremely shocked, but grateful, and I think I will attend.By any chance, do any of you know how many people applied to E2/MITES/MOSTEC?
Surprised I got into MOSTEC. Excited to meet you all in August!
I got into E2. Is E2>Mostec or is Mostec>E2?
about 2100
Got into MITES! Haha I wish my facial expression had been recorded when I opened the decision page…I’ll never quite be able to recreate it
My daughter got into MOSTEC, which is super awesome, but she was also accepted into another STEM academic program for the month of July. Since the conf. is not until August it would not interfere, but I’m unsure how she would handle the workload between both programs. Plus it’s residential. Any insight from some of the former MOSTEC participants?? She needs to make a decision pretty quickly for other one!! Thanks!
I have been following this thread since almost immediately after apps were due (didn’t find it until then.) I got rejected, but I honestly wasn’t that upset. My band director and I were speaking on Monday about me being drum major, and being accepted into any of these programs would conflict with that, especially MITES which was my first choice. Not getting accepted, I feel is the world’s way of telling me that I am meant to be drum major. Not getting in made my decision for me, and for that I am grateful! Congratulations to all of you who did make it! I’m proud of all of you and I hope you guys keep us updated on your journey!
@bronx4030 Same here. Daughter got into MOSTEC and also into another 2-weeks stem academic program that she would really like to do. Not sure if she can do both as it says in the letter that they should not sing into any other rigorous programs. Also, conflicted about the semester online part since she is enrolled in another university’s stem program that has an online component and will be simultaneous. Not sure if it will be TOO MUCH for first semester Senior year?!?! Any thoughts???
I seem to be the first person to post who got into E2. We should network through social media somehow.
Hello, everyone! Congragulations to those who got accepted into any of the three programs. I was accepted at MOSTEC, and I just want to know if there’s anybody out there with the same situation as mine. The courses that the MOSTEC program offers are not even remotely related to my career goals. I want to study architecture, so I would’ve imagined that if I got accepted it would’ve been in MITES, which is the only program of the three that offers an architecture course. Either way, I already agreed on participating in the program, and I’m very excited to begin, even if I decide to take a course that doesn’t involve my area of interest. I post this here in hopes of finding other people with a similar situation. Perhaps MIT will include this year an architectural design or civil engineering course, or anything of the sort, really. If not then I really have no idea which course to select. Whatever the case, I can’t wait to begin.
I got into E2 also.
Any MOSTEC alum present for questions?
I got into MITES! So excited to meet these MITES students this summer! Is anyone going to create a 2016 MITES Facebook or social media page like last year? I’m super excited and grateful to be given the opportunity to attend!
D got into E2, but also specifically asked for it on the application. She is very happy to have been accepted.
