My essay wasnt excellent but it was good Enough.
@Dreamer3422 & @AuroraBelieves have you also been accepted in to either the Scholars or Honors program?
Also does anyone know the process they use when reviewing the Morrill essays (alphabetical order, first in-first out)?
@West2010 Yes, I was accepted into Honors. Just my two cents, but I think notifications are based on order of applications. I had a friend who submitted the OSU app in September, and heard back in December.
@West2010 I think they are doing it on first in-first out basis. No, I haven’t heard from honirs and scholars yet.
Not sure about everyone else, but my honors notification went automatically to my email junk folder along with every other email I have received from OSU
I just got the National Buckeye Scholar and Trustees scholarship meaning that i got a $14,000 scholarship. Very generous and excited that I got it since I am an out of state resident! It makes my tuition for my state school (University of Maryland) the same.
But still hoping for the morrill scholars scholarship because it would be much bigger!
Also can someone please explain this to me?
The Prominence Scholarship is awarded to nonresidents. This scholarship is equivalent to the value of both in-state tuition and the nonresident surcharge.
I’m a nonresident. I’m still waiting to hear back from the diversity program but what does the prominese scholarship mean? Basically what i’m asking is, how much money this mean that I’ll get???
@longhorndreamer the Prominence Scholarship is a full tuition scholarship
@Jay2631 so basically my parents wouldn’t have to pay anything? does full tuition mean full ride in this case?
No you will still have to pay for room and board. Their top scholarship, the Distinction, is a full ride
Do you guys think I could check the status of my application if I call?
Has anyone heard about the Distinction?
My daughter received this email today, “We are feverishly reviewing your application and our hope is to announce the students selected to move forward to be interviewed for the Distinction Scholarship next week.”
^^^ I received the same email.
I received that email as well. Good luck to all!
I wonder when exactly next week. Monday?
@Jalaquan, as a mom, I would like to say, don’t wait for it. If it comes, then it’s a bonus. If it doesn’t, then you won’t be disappointed because you’re not expecting it. I know, I know. It’s better said than done
(That’s what I told my daughter too)
Was that email sent out to all scholarship applicants or those whom are eligible for the distinction only?
@PKR217 I believe to only those being considered for the Distinction
My son received the same email yesterday.
