Most Annoying Student Behaviors

Yeah, on the topic of anime … I absolutely hate it too. Can’t stand it! This is coming from an Asian …

The only anime for me that is acceptable is/was Pokemon!

Pokemon sucks as an anime… o.o

I never understood the people who dress up as anime characters and run around the whole city, especially the older ones. Ditto for the thirty-year-olds who go to Harry Potter midnight premieres dressed as Harry & Co. Grow up.

Let me make my statement clear. I’m not necessarily hating on Anime as a form of art/expression/theatre or whatever it may be. I just don’t like the type of people who associate themselves with Anime at all (its fanbase). In fact, I would be reluctant to give Anime a chance just because I wouldn’t want to associate myself with its fanbase.

Like someone said earlier, I haven’t really met someone that is into Anime and that wasn’t awkward/weird. At least not in the United States.

BTW I think cosplay is just one of the dumbest/weirdest things ever.

Well aren’t you all critical. Live and let live. If you don’t like anime and don’t want to associate with people who do, that’s fine. However, you few posters above me just seem judgmental due to your own conception of what everyone who likes anime is like, which is honestly incorrect. I like Miyazaki because he produces spectacular movies with very good plots and beautiful animations. I would never participate in cosplay because it’s just not my thing, but I have met some brilliant and very interesting people who enjoy it very much. Who am I to tell them it is weird/stupid/wrong? Get over yourselves.

I concur. I never would have known what anime as an art form/etc was if it weren’t for the rather odd fan base.

Zchryevns, no one is saying it’s bad – just that it doesn’t make sense to particular posters.

^

My mistake, I don’t know where I got that idea from.

cosplay is… meh. I would only find it acceptable on halloween or something of that sort at a costume party. But full time? heck no. A keychain or two sure but a full on outfit, ew.

Who cares, people? I know some people that cosplay and you would never know it.

I think the one of the most annoying college behaviors are those in college who judge people like we’re still in high school.

^^How many people have you met that have cosplay full-time? That’s a downright asinine remark.

There are different types of Anime fans. Ok… I’m generalizing here.

Everyday people who watch anime just because it’s on TV. Like me.

There are those who love it but go on with their normal lives. They don’t preach about it. And they might dress up/go to a fan party with their friends. once in a while like Comic-Con. I have a really cool (and smart) neighbor who does that just for kicks.

Those who worship it. I’ve only met 2 fanatics before and both were girls. They were friends of my friends… Everyday I would hear them talking about gay anime men (Yaoi). Actually, not talking but screaming. And then they would reach their daily orgasm and scream at like 100000000000 decibels.

I’d say i’d fall between one and two. 3s however, i cannot stand ><. It gives us a bad name.

Actually the opposite annoys me. The kid who knows the answer but doesn’t ever answer who makes it so that the same kid or same 2 kids answer every single question.

I am one of the kids who ends up having to answer half the time, so I completely understand.

I don’t have a problem if you watch anime. The problem is if you can’t distinguish reality from your cartoons. There is a fine line from enjoying a show and acting it out in real life. Fat anime nerds disgust me.

I haven’t seen one single anime, no matter how crazy/stupid, that I couldn’t compare to US TV.

Honestly I’d rather watch a good anime than Jersey Shore et al. I don’t find anime fanatics all that much worse than people who obsess over JS, the Kardashian show, etc. At least the former are fawning over something that could be called artistic whereas the latter are… I don’t even know what words can describe them.

…people being paid to prance around on tv?

Hey Jersey Shore is hilarious. And if you watch it regularly it’s easy to get really into it, lol.

lol I’ve seen one or two episodes. I admit it’s entertaining but not something I’d watch regularly.

I’m no high-brow TV watcher though, I love Hell’s Kitchen and I loved Viva La Bam.
