Mount Holyoke RD Waiting

I GOT IN!!! and the 21st century scholarship! I cried when I read the letter. Who’s going to admitted students weekend!? :)

@ Meanderer

A personal letter from me sounds great! I didn’t even thought about that! Thank you!

@mjl2121

I registered. I can’t wait to meet all of my potential classmates!

Hi. I got accepted for entrance for 2012 spring.
Do you guys think if I send them email they will accept me for fall 2011?

I got rejected… proabably the first on this thread to do so. Not a good day… Rejected from Uchicago today my all time favorite choice and now this… fifth rejection. Got rejected from Northwestern ED, Tulane, and Wellesley “unlikely”. The only college I got into is DePaul in chicago my safety with 18,000 per year merit scholarship. Still have Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Smith, USC, and Umass to hear back from. This stinks…

I was waitlisted. ]: I’m so sad, I can’t even come up with words.

Anyone know how to check out the financial aid package?
I dont have anything related on ny financial aid account.

Sent from my X10a using CC App

I am an international student and I just found out that I got in!
And I got a scholarship which amounts to around 50k for the year (around 25k per term)!
Yay!

I got in for January. They gave me a nice amount of grant money and so far it’s the best I’ve gotten. I am not complaining!

DD waitlisted. Very disappointed. Do any of you know of a case of somebody being waitlisted or rejected at MoHo and getting accepted at Smith.

@2015hopeful I know exactly how you feel. I got rejected from MHC & Wellesley. And I’m waiting to hear from Smith, Pitzer, Hampshire, Skidmore & Scripps. It seems almost hopeless to expect to get in any of those schools if MHC & Wellesley didn’t want me. :frowning: But hopefully we both get into the university or college thats right for us. :)

I got admitted as a 21st Century Scholar!

I am very happy, but I so feel those of you who were rejected or waitlisted. I just got waitlisted from UChicago which I had really been in love with, and waiting till Mid June for decisions seems so very torturous.

Especially for those of you whose first choice was MoHo, I hope that you shall love the school you eventually go to, and I’m sure that you’ll get in somewhere good (although this last part sounds so fake), but always always remember, it’s not where you are, but what you do there.

For those who think just because they got rejected from MoHo and say Wellesley like the poster above me, just don’t lose hope! This is such a totally random process, it’s hard to say what might happen! Please just keep fingers crossed and hope for the best, and just don’t think of the worst (But keep a few funny flicks at hand just in case).

MoHo for me, was a near safety, although I’m international and on full aid, but I still love it a lot more than a lot of my near-reach schools because I know many people from there and the connection just formed. Still, if I do get an even better aid package (MoHo’s aid package is really amazing, but it could be better), or get into another of my top choices (MHC’s somewhere in the middle of my list), then there’s a possibility that I might go there instead.

Good luck for remaining decisions, and again don’t lose hope. :)

I don’t think MoHo is a (near) safety for anyone. The acceptance rate is misleading–it’s a very self-selecting, well-qualified pool.

Congrats to all those accepted. For those rejected/waitlisted, hang in there! hugs

perfectpixie, what does a 21st century scholar mean?
shall I see u next fall in MHC xD ?

^^It is for some. Anyway, I don’t want to quarrel on that.

ginny: maybe! From whatever I’ve heard from the alums I know, I think people at MoHo are really awesome and I’m sure you all are too! Won’t come for admitted student weekend though I think, there are finals going on here in my country and I need a break from everything including college stuff once they finish.
21st Century Scholarship is a well scholarship. They pay $25,000 in merit every year (I mean, it’s renewable), and some other benefits. Here:

It’s apparently a leadership scholarship. You could find the details on google I think.

I’ve been waitlisted at TWO lesser schools than MHC. I don’t get it, but there it is.

^And that I think should act as a cheering up boost for those who got rejected/waitlisted at other schools. Goes to show how random the process is, and why you shouldn’t expect the worst for the remaining schools. :D

@jammma good to hear someone else I can relate to on this. I feel the exact same way, “if these colleges rejected me, what will the others do?” For me, I honestly have no idea what to expect. I hope I at least get into smith. The alumna actually reached out to me requesting to interview me, without me even asking the college for an interview. It lasted an hour and a half and went great, and she said she’d really advocate for me. I also had an overnight there that went well. So I hope I receive good news from them, but I never know. I wish you the best of luck, and I truly hope you get accepted to all of the rest of the colleges you applied to. We both should have hope for the other schools! :)

^that sounds great.
Smith values demonstrated interest a lot.

For those of you who got waitlisted, I suggest you write a personal handwritten letter to the committee to show exactly how much you love the school. I think that should really make a difference. The alum I know got accepted the first year she applied, but she only got a half scholarship, and couldn’t go without more money. So she applied as a transfer the next year, and got a full scholarship! Demonstrated interest helps, a lot.
There’s always a way out, there’s never one ending.

Just got accepted! 2230SAT/3.45GPA - I thought my gpa would have been a problem!

(… but now I regret not applying for financial aid)
