Since NYC is very very tight in parking, i wanted to know where students, along with their family, park? Is there a designated parking lot? What if the parking spaces next to the dorms are all taken up? Also, what if my family wants to come up to my room to help me unpack and stuff? Thanks

Street parking is free on Sunday. Just pay attention to the signs. Also, pay attention to signs where you are turning. We were recipients of a very pricey ticket near Union Square Park.

The Public Safety officers have blocked off a lane of traffic in front of each dorm for temporary unloading. At freshmen move-in, we unloaded, left one person on line with all of the stuff, our student checked in and after we (parents) parked the car, we waited some more on line. Sophomore year move-in was much more relaxed as students move in on various days of the week before class starts. Our student and sibling had moved everything up into the room before we returned from the parking garage.

Best of luck to you!
