move in day time

what time is everyone gonna get there? how long do you think moving in takes?

i’m getting there by 8 when it opens
i don’t want to get there during peak hours because it’ll just be a waste of time waiting for everyone to get their keys and stuff
i have a feeling the lines are going to be VERY long
it was already long enough during orientation and there were only like 1/10th of the freshman class
but now even the parents are coming so think how much traffic there will be

Im getting there the night before and sleeping in the car.

Well I suspect at least a 1/3 of the Freshman class will come on the alternate day…so it’ll still be packed but the entire class won’t be moving in on the 20th. At any rate i’ll probably see if I can get there anywhere from 8-9.I don’t want to get there to early and be the only person on my floor and not have anyone to talk too, but I don’t want to go to late and have to wait in DMV-like lines for my ID.

why 1/3?
there aren’t that many jewish and muslim people in the freshman class
it’ll be more like 1/15

i’m pretty sure most people will be busy all morning until at least 1-2 because they’ll hang out with their parents before they depart

yeah, and there’s like a family breakfast at 11 right? i think i’ll go around 9-10

I’m getting there by 7AM. Ha HA hAh a.

some people could opt to just move in on the 21st…they have that choice.

i guess, but it would probably be better to get to know your floormates before all the events begin

@jen - they don’t let you start moving til 8 lol

lines. (: i was there an hour early for orientation too (even though i didn’t mean to be… transportation problems)… there was a line already. i have to get there early so I can move things before the sun is blazing hot. My cosmetics and other stuff will be ruined by the sun!

are anyone’s parents staying with them until the lunch or whatever?

Is lunch free? jw lololol

can we just leave when we finished unpacking cuz I want to spend some time with my family at some restaurants before they leave. Will there be any events immediately we move in?

Nah, dont gotta do ****.

yea you can leave until the school actually starts on the 24th i believe
but it’s not recommended because you won’t know anyone on your floor
but that’s an excellent idea
i might just do that too

@jen - i’m pretty sure

Convocation is on the move in day, 4:45pm

convocation?
is that to help people meet each other?

It’s actually on the 21st (my bad), but:

[Convocation: Home](http://convocation.ucr.edu/)

lol I was wondering why they would leave out all the peeps celebrating Ramadan

convocation is like an entrance ceremony for the freshmen

watch there be a prank
