Move-in logistics?

So we're all set to drive down to UCSD this weekend and get my daughter settled into Revelle.

After developing a migraine from surfing through the various sub-domains and unsearchable PDF files and pop-up windows, I have no idea where to find info on move-in logistics, i.e. parking, moving equipment (e.g. dollies, carts), etc.

Any one have pointers? Do we just pull into the closest parking spot, unload our boxes and elbow our way into the residence halls? Sounds like fun...

I moved in to Revelle today. Park in the meter parking area close to the dorms (turn into the parking lot on your right as you come in and go all the way to the back). Find the people who check you in, for us they were in front of Blake Hall. They give you room keys, and then they have carts you can use to bring stuff in.

dont come in the morning!! it will be packed!!!

Sorry about stealing your thread but I have a similar question.
Where do we go about parking our cars if we're planning on keeping them at UCSD but can't get our permit until monday (Gilman parking office is closed on weekends)

outside the parking office they sell day-long parking permits. you probably need to get one each day and park in an appropriate space

Your daughter should have gotten an email describing the move in process for her college. There will also be signs posted on campus, it isn't too difficult to navigate even if you show up completely clueless.

John, I'm pretty sure they have a grace period at the start of the year (when move-in and everything is going on). So you won't actually need the parking permit right away.

Parking is free on the weekends.

Directions are pretty simple. Follow the people/crowd at your own college.

oh, according to the weather forecast, it's gonna rain on saturday

maybe it's a good thing my dorm is right next to the parking lot :)

too bad i have to walk up the stairs

Anyone know the number of the parking lot by the Muir halls?
