Moving in from Lot 7

They... have like.. big carts right? Motorized ones that pull my stuff up? Or do I have to get owned by the hill?

Uh, no motorized carts.

What building are you moving in to?

motorized... as in... the pick-up truck type.. cept miniature?

Reiber Terrace. This is slightly annoying, Hedrick move-in was easy. I have a fridge and about 3 carts worth of stuff, so hopefully we get it all in.

(I'm just imagining laundry carts with a gas motor).

Damn that's a lot of stuff. The hill is going to own you :(.

I'm not sure if it's possible, but it would be a wiser choice to park in parking lot 11.

The housing site says that parking is complimentary for you move-in date, but doesn't specify any particular lot. So, give it a shot?

if you have someone that can stay in the car, park in lot 17

you load your crap onto carts in the parking lot. trucks carry carts up to rieber turn around. shuttles carry people to rieber turnaround. check in and reclaim your carts at rieber turnaround. move stuff into your room. bring empty carts to cart return area in rieber turnaround. board shuttle in rieber turnaround to go back to lot 7. go find your car. unlock. get in. close doors. start car. buckle seat belts. exit parking lot 7. follow directions to exit campus. then do whatever the hell you want.

Wait, so can we park somewhere else? I'm supposed to go to lot 7 as well...

Lol. Yeah I'm exaggerating. It should be two carts. Nothing psychotic. It may be three though just because of the fridge (it's more of a midsize than the half-pint type most people have)--> same height as microfridge.

i dont think they'll let you park anywhere other than your designated lot.

hm... parking wont shoot me [e.g. give me a stupid ticket] if I was supposed to move in today but didn't because it rained...and am going to move in tomorrow around 7 pm instead...right?...

"Those who cannot arrive during their assigned move-in times are welcome to move-in anytime Monday, September 24th. Open check in times after 8:00 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday."

If possible, I'd wait an hour to be safe.

Ahh~ well hopefully it doesn't rain then...it's pouring and thundering over here :(

But will that check in include parking too~? Because I remember when choosing times there was a saturday 8 - 10 pm one..lol

I called in because my move-in time was Friday but I decided Saturday worked better for me. Hedrick front desk chick just told me I'll have to pay $8 for parking. So whatevs.

You could just edit the parking pass you have now on Word to fit your new move-in time...

they dont really enforce the move in times...

It's not the time...it's the parking I'm worried about lol...I don't want another ticket :(!

During summer move-in, I used the Saxon "Conferences and Visitors Parking" spaces, and I didn't get ticketed. Maybe no parking officer stopped by my car, though.

im putting this here b/c its the most relevant thread on page 1:

omg i effing HATE MOVE IN WEEKEND.

TOO MANY PARENTS. TOO MANY MOVING VANS. TOO MANY PORTABLE STORAGE UNITS TAKING VALUABLE STREET PARKING.

omg just stop. it should not take me 30 minutes to get to wooden from kelton. IT JUST SHOULDN'T. gah.
