It’s definitely a rejection from Ithaca. That’s how they do it. Letter comes later. Sorry!

Where is it showing up on your myithaca account? I’ve checked mine every day and I don’t see anything about my major. I made one a few months ago but I don’t remember putting what my first/second choice majors were. Will it do it automatically or does it only show up if you previously put in MT?

I’m not sure if this is the right place, but in my D’s myIthaca account when we click under “Application Checklist” it still says for her: “Major of Interest: H&S Musical Theater, BFA”. But the column next to it (What We Still Need) it says: “Midterm Transcript” & “Audition”

To me it says that they haven’t updated her account as both of those “needs” are completed as she auditioned at Chicago Unifieds.

Right. She’s still in the pool being considered for MT unless it changes. For some it changed to BFA acting if that was their second choice, and they were fine with it. Some were out and out rejected from the school entirely, but the 2nd and 3rd choice major thing caused a bunch of confusion. It’s still early though for Ithaca.

I can’t even get on the website right now, anyone else having a problem?

Okay it says I’ve submitted everything I need, including audition, an my major of interest is still MT. Does this mean I’m still being considered?

@tracyvp thank you for your encouraging message! Yes, at least I have that wait-list but I’m not sure the chance for getting accepted I think I have a balanced list of schools…
I wonder if my mails arrive later than everyone else since I live in Japan.

@MTcurly - Thanks for responding on my SU query. As to the mail, since we are in the same part of the world, mails would normally arrive later a day or two, at least. When the UA rejection/acceptance letter went out in US mainland, we receive ours two days late (considering the date my D auditioned) - and we are within the US postal service system. As most experienced members posted here, I think it is good news if you do not received any reject letter as this point from the other schools. Hanging in there, as my D is doing right now!

Just got my rejection from Pace today, I guess that’s to note for anyone in Canada who’s been waiting

@theatreG14 was it an email? Snail mail?

@geofio It was snail mail in a normal sized envelope.

Okay thanks. I’m so worried cause I haven’t heard anything except my academic acceptance…

Wait, I’m confused…Syracuse started sending rejections already?!

:-) It’s a definite no from Penn State… It very clearly wasn’t meant to be… if you all want a good laugh…

I stayed with my grandparents who live in Pittsburgh ( about 3 hours from PSU) decided the night before that I’d leave at 5am to get there around 8 ( check in was at 8:45… I like to get to auditions nice and early to warm up get focused beforehand) … WELL… there was a snow storm going on and 7 inches of snow that had not yet been plowed… going down the interstate was FUUUN XD… then several times, I got stuck behind massive plows, which was good and bad… good, cause they were making the roads a whole lot nicer to drive on… bad cause they were crazy slow and took up the entire road… Anyways… I ended up getting there 15 minutes late, finding out that one of my two recommendation letters was never sent in, and came into the dance audition in freakout mode… legit blanked out when It was my turn to do the dance… it was BAAAD… but that isn’t the worst part…

My singing and acting audition wasn’t terrible… it was far from my best. I finished, and my guide was walking me out of the room, and talking to me… WELL… I was looking at him, and didn’t see the 5 inch step that went around the door… my foot slammed down, ankle gave out, and I legit face planted… pretty sure they saw my bottom… I was mortified then, but now I think it’s hillarious… CLEARLY I’m not meant to go to Penn State… I’m okay with it… it is an amazing school, but I would have had to start over as a freshman there, anyways.

Ooooh audition horror stories… I thought you could all use a good laugh in this time…

This time is VERY stressful, but trust in yourself and in your talents… you ( or your child) will end up where you need to be… and if you aren’t accepted anywhere, that’s okay! Work your butt off for a year, take extra classes, and keep trying!!! If this is what you want more than anything, then do what you have to do in order to make it happen, and it WILL happen. Good things happen to those who dream big and work hard.

coexist that’s one for the record books. Thank you for sharing-- I’d definitely say humor is essential for anyone who goes through this, and you’ve got it!!

Has anyone heard back from BoCo yet?

@TheatreG14: You might have better luck in the BoCo forum.

39652310: Historically, Syracuse has sent out both acceptances and rejections in waves or batches, often separated by a couple of weeks. Based on the past, there is no correlation between which batch your notification is in and whether you are accepted or rejected. Assuming this is still the procedure, anyone waiting to hear from Syracuse should try to resist the understandable urge to get torqued up as results start getting posted on CC or you hear about it from friends. When my daughter was accepted to Syracuse with a large scholarship, she was in the 3rd wave and I remember how stressful it was as we heard that others had received notices and she had not. Made us feel like a rejection was inevitable but that was not the case.

My D also heard from Syracuse in the last wave which was the very end of March last year. She actually heard from all 4 of her acceptances within a week of each at the very end of March. Very stressful waiting period last year for us!

Just got a no from Wright State by email yesterday.
