I am a freshman at Michigan State University this year, and I am looking to transfer my junior year. I would like to transfer to New York or Los Angeles, as I want to work in the music industry. I have not a stitch of musical talent, however. So I am not sure what to major in. I am a Communications and Public Relations major right now, but is this sufficient to get a job in the music industry? I have heard of such schools offering Music Business majors but I am not sure which ones do, and if that would be more beneficial. I am interested in the promotions, marketing, and booking aspects of the music industry and would like to work for a record label. What do i do?

General Education Requirements
The university’s general education program provides a coherent, integrated introduction to the breadth of knowledge you will need to consider yourself (and to be considered by other people) a generally well-educated person.
