classical soothes u, and u can follow the tune, i get distracted with hip hop or something to that effect... i.e. the kings of crunk, crunk too much for my tastes

I just listen to random stations on the radio, and switch when they're on commercials or i don't like a song :)

i listen to music when i'm on the computer because all my "legally" downloaded mp3s are on my pc. im broke and cant buy an ipod. i listen to anything and everything except country, classical, and any other crap.

i listen to all kinds of music when i do homework.... but any music at all is very distracting for me

have to do classical, b/c otherwise I'd be singing along. sometimes I do anyway, as I know way too many classical pieces. I really like baroque, but am leaning more toward romantic now. don't know why not Classical, perhaps it's b/c I think mozart is too bubbley. have recently developed an edvard grieg addiction, I think it's b/c I've played him too much.

mozart is too bubbly, too light... it's too technical for my taste as is baroque, the truly great composers are the 19th century late romance period ones... mendelssohn saen saints... even beethoven to some degree tho, his violin concertos are lacking compared to piano

buddist chants would be most ideal. works for me anyway

another_asianboy, are you buddhist? I'm buddhist, and I live in NJ, too. Well, I listen to Chopin's music while I study.

not an ardent practitioner. im partially influenced by buddist beliefs, i must say, since i lived in china for 13 years. where in nj u live?

Northern Valley area in Bergen County, and I practice in NY

oh, and i dont rele listen to anything when im studying. in fact, i rarely study at all. and when i do, music distracts my thinking. if you say my brain is capable of thinking. so...

YEA BUDDHISTS UNITE... there's 3 of us in jersey alone... on cc haha

I sometimes listen to music while I do my homework/study (only when intense concentration is not needed). Though, when I do, I usually listen to new age types of music. As stated above, Damien Rice is a pretty soothing artist to listen to, though I usually listen to Norah Jones, Kevin Kern, or various instrumental music.
