<p>I have to open up by stating that I am not the most musically inclined person. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE listening to music. However, I've never played an instrument or sang in a choir. </p>
<p>Basically, my question is, do I have to have a serious interest in music if I want to possibly end up at Oberlin??</p>

<p>Of course you don't. The conservatory is an important part of Oberlin and helps give the institution its distinctive character. But it is only a part of Oberlin, and in fact the College of Arts & Sciences is significantly larger (2200 students vs. 600 students). Most Oberlin students are not music students.</p>
