bump again

bump again please help me out with chances to the followin schools with my stats:

michigan, HYPS, duke, northwestern, lehigh, villanova, stanford, georgetown, george washington (acell med), johns hopkins, boston u (acell med), BC

your ec's need some work, i think starting a bloody knuckles club would make you a lock for HYPS.

just curious, what kind of school do you go to where ur the valedictorian and u get a 2030? not ragging on you or your school just curious.
25-75% at my school is 1360-1530 on the old scale.

right now though i'd say
michigan-match, hyps-reach, northwestern-slight reach, lehigh-safety, nova-match, georgetown-slight reach, george washington-match (LOOK HERE), jhu-reach, bu-i know nothing about bu, BC-matchtosafety

Michigan HIGH MATCH
HYPS HIGH REACH
Duke REACH
Northwestern REACH [not as much of one as Duke]
Lehigh LOW REACH/HIGH MATCH [more high match]
Villanova HIGH MATCH
Stanford HIGH REACH
Georgetown LOW REACH/REACH
George Washington MATCH [not sure how selective med. program is, so this is more for the university in general]
Johns Hopkins REACH [not so much as Duke]
Boston u MATCH [same comment as the one for GWU]
BC HIGH MATCH/LOW REACH [more high match]

For the most part, your scores are what are holding you back. A lot of these universities could be high matches or matches, if you bring up your ACT to atleast a 32+ or SAT to a 2100+. Your EC's are okay, but you can definitely add a few more leadership positions and awards to your list. Good luck!

*What is the breakdown of your SAT? If it's only a low writing that is bring down your score, then a lot of these COULD be high matches, but it really depends.

thanks alot, btw, how r u basing ur guesses on? just wonderin what your expereince is in the college ad process.

sat breakdown is horrible for my first two tests, but i feel confident that i will do better on the scores of my june sat

1st time around:

Math: 680
Reading: 630
Writing: 710

2nd time around:

Math:690
Reading:620
Writing: 650

I also took my 2nd ACT last saturday so hopefuly i do good on that too

thanks aquamarine and plz reply to my post

any other suggestsions? thanks alot guys

iamjacquesbarjon, i acutally go to a very prestigious public school which is #1 in the state. and u have fallen to thea ssumption that high sats means u are smart, that is completely wrong. i am simply not an expert at mastering the test. but i seem to excell in the imporant aspects of college admission, which is academics.

I think that most of my evaluations for the schools you listed stand. I was just worried that maybe your M + CR may have been 1400+, which would mean that your chances may have been slightly higher than what I listed.
I'm basing my guesses mostly on the information that I receive from admission counselors, CC, and past results.
Let me know your results later on! :)

Since I applied to almost some of the same schools: (I didn't bother reading 4 pages of posts, so if someone already said this... too bad and sorry)

HYPS-10% (because that's the acceptance rate, even if you have 2200+)
Rest of Ivies - 15%
Georgetown and Duke I find on par, I got into both (business for GT and Arts and Sciences for Duke) about 22%
Northwestern: 30%
Michigan- Ann Arbor: 60%

You'll find that I almost just repeated the acceptance rate of the schools, and at some of these competitive schools, even if you have perfect scores you will get rejected, b/c there is simply too many qualified applicants... if you have near/perfect SATs/ACTs and hooks, it will really only increase your chances slightly (assuming you're not famous, recruited athlete, son of the president of the school... etc...)

bah well today is a pretty crappy yet good day.

first of all, i have worked my a$$ off to maintain my 4.0 and i have managed to keep that going, as i did well on my math and chem final... now awaiting my english final....

second of all, I did NOT win NHS president, this was pretty depressing beacuse i did not win studco executive officer last week either. however i will be studco senator next yr, a lower posotion. and foruntaly for a good friend, he won class vice president and NHS secreatary, I am totaly envious of him but wish him the best of luck with his college admissions, even though hes applyin to similar schools as me

anyways, I didnt win Studco, didnt win NHS today, o and also I didnt win Law Club elections today... ahh o well $h!t happens..

anyone think i still have a good shot at my colleges??? I still am President/Founder of Campus News Video Media Club. I think this is my interesting hook beacuse on paper I look like a motivated sciencey kid but then they will see this interesting video hook.... what do u guys think???

bump plz thanks

bump me again thanks

anyone think that i can get into great schools without great leadership positions??

i only got senator of studco for 2 yaers
president/founder of video media club
