My goodness, are UCLA people LAME

Okay, not all of them, obviously, but this just ****es me off.

http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=groups.groupProfile&groupID=100013588

http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=groups.groupProfile&groupID=100417422

http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=groups.groupProfile&groupID=100103444

Are they really that hateful as to create a whole myspaces bashing USC? One word... LOSERS..... shows how insecure and bitter they are.

And for crap's sake, they even have a hate site (with a 100+ members) making fun of a USC fan... they insult him by calling him a "fag". Talk about homophobia... nice going UCLA. http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=groups.groupProfile&groupID=100266768

Do you know how many anti-UCLA myspaces there are made by USC kids? Like, one. So what does that tell you....?

This was really funny, however http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=groups.groupProfile&groupID=100371179 One member. Shows you how proud future Bruins are of themselves...

what's sad is that some of the people in that myspace aren't even UCLA students nor alumni.

UCLA is to USC what Yale is to Harvard. There are the good, but then there are the best!!

Don't worry. UCLA is just showing their pride. It's just retarded when they don't even go to UCLA and totally seem weird. Iono, I love USC and so do the whole trojan network. Just walk around and you'll see more USC stuff on ppl than UCLA.

A public school is always jealous of a private school. Plus they already know their football tm will get humiliated on gameday.

Yeah, on facebook there are many more UCLA groups hating USC than USC hating UCLA. I'm proud to be in my UCLA SUCKS AT EVERYTHING group, but UCLA has around 14 groups hating USC (but I love the UCLA group entitled "Confused Males Wondering Why Every Girl at USC is Hot" or another group which says about USC guys "If you started to cry when you realized how completely disgusting UCLA's men are compared to the specimens that walked in, join here. I still have dreams about it. Good God.").

It's all kind of funny. Basically, what I've noticed is that while both school hate each other, USC students seem to hate UCLA because they dare to put down OUR school; we focus more on pride of our own school, we love our school and don't like to see people talking bad about it (especially when they're wrong). UCLA, from what I've experienced, seems to hate more not because they are protective of their school, but just because they like to stick to tired old stereotypes and they think it's funny. They seem more focused on us than their own school. I can't really describe it.

I just think the myspace group that mentions how they hate how they see all the USC students walking around in SC hats sums it all up. I love how all of the students at our school have pride, and wear their gear all the time, no matter where they are. I've never seen any other school display it as much.

I'm proud to have authored the group description of the UCLA Sucks at Everything group

Come on guys! You know USC dislikes UCLA just as much...no, actually more than the other way around. I think many USC students actually HATE their cross-town rivals.

I am one of the only people walking the face of the earth who actually loves them both with all my heart. Cant we all just get along?

Most people do get along with their rivals. It's just simply fun, as long as it doesn't go too far.

Perhaps if I get into Anderson, shyboy, I'll love them both like you do. Until then, it's grudging respect.

I hate UCLA in the name of rivalry, but its not like I'm going to see someone from there, and hate THEM. One of my best friends from high school goes there, and I've gone over and visited. I didn't like the idea that people might think I went there, but the fact that my friend went there doesn't mean I automatically hate her. :) I've met many nice people from there (and also the opposite, but they're everywhere). I definitely don't want to love them with all of my heart, shyboy, because I think a rivalry just makes everything more fun. Except for the part when UCLA people are mean or annoying, but it's part of the price you pay, I guess.

I LOVE USC. And I don't even go there yet. I have an enormous amount of USC apparel which I purchased at the admit reception. I also have a gi-normous USC sticker on the back window of my truck. Its awesome. People are like "wow, really reppin' the school and you're not even there yet." I love USC. I liked UCLA as well, I have nothing against them. So far. :D but yeah... school spirit is awesome.

Way to go with the SC sticker. If only I had a car, I would be representin', too!

Uscchicka, I went on UCLA's facebook after I read your post and laughed at the groups they have on there:

Group: "Bruins who root for USC"
Description: "I dare you to join! Face it, UCLA is starting to suck. Higher and higher fees with decreasing services and financial aid. Don't even get us started with the football. Since when the hell anyone ever got a job because of their UCLA connections? Better with a ghetto that lets you confront real-life problems, than a ghetto of hoity-toity billionaires barracaded inside a limo. Down with yuppies!"

Group: "Confused Males Wondering Why Every Girl at Usc Is Hot"
Description: "Over the last weeks of attending several apartment parties and getting kicked out the local bars i can't help it but find myself ending my night looking at the pretty girls at USC wondering why i can't find a nice spoiled ***** (for all the girls at USC i meant that in a good way, or the same way my father uses it when referring to my mother) like that here at UCLA to take care of me and buy me DVD's and video games. Furthermore i decided to stop drinking and to find a way to help people like myself in this vile predicament. Unfortunately i can't just take the blue pill like neo did and makes this all go away because i have tried going down that road and i only end up waking up the next mourning not knowing where i am butt ass naked calling myself Reggie Bush."

Group: "I Really appreciated USC Sigma Chi's Derby Days Row Walk"
Description: "Did anyone else need to wipe off their seat after USC Sigma Chi's row walk on Monday? If you started to cry when you realized how completely disgusting UCLA's men are compared to the specimens that walked in, join here. I still have dreams about it. Good God."

Wow do they have a lot of Anti-USC groups. The USC Facebook network only has one major one and few random little ones. Bruins need to take a chill pill.

im loving this thread. let me tell you, its not just the bruins that loathe us, its just about everybody on the planet. my uci homies always give me ish about transferring. "oooooo your paying like 40k for tuition? how dumb"...no, dik breathe, i pay less at USC than i would going to uci b/c im on financial aid, in fact i pay less than you. get a job, stupid. that alwayas shuts em up. i also like to brag about how my current internship found me, i didnt even have to try. unlike those loser anteaters (great mascot by the way) who live up their summer all bummy and broke b/c uci gets you no where. anyways, enough uci hating. let me tell you guys a story: i was at ucla with my ex-woman b/c my ex-woman wanted to transfer. i took my car, my BMW. her name is Bianca. anywyas, i leave 'B' out in some random parking lot in westwood that i had to pay for, for a total of 3 hrs. i come back, my liscence plate is ripped off, along with my USC Marshall liscence plate ring, which was no where to be found. very mature, if i do say so myself. dont worry, ill avenge Bianca. and perpetuate the cycle of stupidity. the moral of my story is that although i have great respect for ucla as an institution, i look down upon the majority of their scummy student body. ucla peeps are therefore lame.

I never drive my car to UCLA because I know some idiot will do something to my car. I won't label the entire student body the same, but I've had more than a handful of times where I've had idiot UCLA students confront me for no reason. One was at the football game which is to be expected I guess, but others are during random nights out in LA (not Westwood). I'm tending to my own business when idiots in UCLA gear will stop and yell "SC F***in sucks!!!!" and drive off or yell "Go back to the ghetto!!!". I've had this happen more than once. Seriously get a damn life.

Also to up Marshall, I have a friend that transferred from UCLA and now attends Marshall and she said the UG business schools are not comparable. She is a very smart student and she said she was learning nothing in the biz-econ program that could be applied towards her future and that the career preparation in terms of internships and job placement was an absolute joke.

I do admit that Anderson MBA is better than Marshall MBA at the moment, but even my former co-workers (Anderson MBA students) say that SC is the place to be if you want to study business because of the prominent alumni.

For my fellow Marshall students, don't take for granted all the firms that constantly visit campus, mentoring opportunities, internship/externship, and job placement that Marshall offers. It's truly a unique offering.

I've had to go through similar experiences with going to USC. Everyone tells me it's too expensive and it's not worth all that money. I just want to say "It's my effin money and my own effin life, and you're just jealous b/c I get to make the decision to pay $$$ to go to USC!"

What bugs me is that UCLA students are hypocrites. In the same sentence they will make fun of you for being rich, and then say something to the extent of "well, at least I'm not poor because I spend all my money on tuition". Sadly, this conversation has happened. Multiple times.

Sigh.

USChicka, just point out how statistically, the parents of UCLA students have, on average, a higher income than USC students (though they'll never believe you). Also, USC gives more need-based and merit aid than any school in the West.

MrTrojanMan, I was at the USCvUCLA basketball game @ UCLA when we lost. I had a USC sticker on my rear windshield of my Saturn and some frat guy was like "nice car, loser! You're supposed to be rich!" Noticing that he was walking his sorry self back to his house, my response was "great car you've got there yourself!" Angry, he ran up, yelled in my face "At least I'm not a Trojan b**ch!" and kicked my car and ran off. The funny thing is, he was making fun of my car being a Saturn when it was that very fact (as Saturn's have dent-resistant door panels) that saved it from being dented. My poor car and USC sticker have also falled victim to having ice cream smeared all over it, as well as bottles placed under my wheels for when I drive away.

And yes, NO ONE realizes that it's only a small percentage that pay the full 40k for tuition. They don't seem to realize that need-based aid exists at schools not in budget chaos, and that paying a comparable amount for USC means actually being able to register for classes, getting out in 4 years, the best alumni network of any school, and the thousands of other intangible pluses that you can't read about in the Princeton Review. It's ok though, as a fellow Marshall student, I like to think of UCI as a great place to tap if I ever need an administrative assistant.

Yes, UCLA is a great institution, but not only are the vast VAST majority of their students ignorantly blind to the areas in which USC is superior (and I don't mean they reject it because they're rivals, but ignorantly blind), they're often downright mean.

Just look at how often a post pops up on College Confidential disparaging USC... for no reason at all! My favorite is http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=33930&highlight=chancellor . Someone actually took the time to take quotes out of context and somehow think that's a credible way to discredit what many would agree is the best President in higher education.

The rivalry causes ignorance to run rampant on that campus.

"USChicka, just point out how statistically, the parents of UCLA students have, on average, a higher income than USC students (though they'll never believe you). Also, USC gives more need-based and merit aid than any school in the West."

id like to see the source of that "statistical" info. who would be stupid enough to analyze something so trivial. people go to UC's in the first place b/c its cheap. anywyas, if that were true (its probably not) then its b/c the avg. income is skewed a little. where at a school like ucla you will always run into the same suburban shmucks (mostly white or asian) whos parents all make the same amount of money, USC will have the richest of the rich and the poorest of the poor, and the poor are so poor that they bring the avg down. i know a guy here at SC whos dad earns a negative income.
