My high school administration SUCKS

so I've been ditching school a couple days this year to work on college apps and science research project. today the attendance person calls me in and gives me a saturday school for 20 unexcused absences. w.t.f. she says i can clear it if i clear my absences, which is what I'm doing right now. but the thing is, there is absolutely no point to going to my school. I learn more at home than at school. I go and just sit there, teachers don't do their job, I don't have to do anything. I still have straight a's. I'm rank 1. etc. etc.

so next time i talk to her, how should i try to get out of saturday school? in a sense, she is really just hurting CHS by making me lose precious time I could spend working on college applications and getting myself into a good college. how retarded.

Can’t your mom call in and say that you had a legitimate reason for being absent?

^can’t speak english.

Hmm…can your dad? You can always get a note. The school has no excuse to give you a Saturday school if your parent says you were absent for a legal reason.

^Not even a little bit? Maybe you can just tell her to say, “My son has been down with the flu the whole past week. Please excuse him.” Or some other excuse.

It sounds sketch, but they can’t really question you.

I just call in sick before school every time I ditch.

^Yea that’s what I did…but there were several days in which I only ditched like several periods…so it’s like…why did this guy ditch these periods but not those…LOL

Why didn’t you miss the whole day? I used to get calls like that. It was because my teacher marked me absent by accident though haha

Because I only went to the classes that were worth going to.

Ok…well that’s going to be tough to cover then. Could you say you had an appointment? I think it depends on how many classes throughout the day you missed though. I mean, if you were there 2nd period and 4th period, but not 3rd and 5th, it might be more difficult.

Your mother can write a note in her native language, you can translate it, and she can sign it.
Are your grades in the classes that you are skipping still OK? Our high school has a policy of automatic grade deductions once a certain amount of days are missed.

^I have solid A’s in every single class. lol. my teachers don’t care.

Ya…all I can think of is a note or a call to your school. Best of luck!

Wow, punishing students for ditching, how draconian!

Hmm you should try going to school. Skipping, no matter how legitimate doesn’t look good.

You have to skip more intelligently. You can’t skip some periods and not others, it’s very difficult to make an excuse that way. Skip blocks of class. For example, skip your morning classes and say your alarm didnt go off. Skip your afternoon classes and say you didn’t feel good that day. Skip a whole day of classes and say you were sick.

The attendance office people hold grudges, it would be in your best interest to be on their good side.

Alarm not going off isn’t really an excuse.

Okay, say you didn’t feel good when you woke up.
Point is, you can’t say you didnt feel good for periods 1 and 2, felt fine for period 3, didn’t feel good for periods 4-7, then felt good again for period 8.

You could also say you had a doctors appointment or something like that. Have one of your parents call in or write you a note.

They don’t speak English
