So long story short, my u.s. history and american lit teacher forgot to input the honors credit for my class. Now my class rank is 11 when I could be tied for 1. I tried talking to my counselor and she said there is nothing she could do about it, since it is the school district office that does the ranking. I'm planning on applying to the top UCs and a few privates like USC. How will this hurt my chances?

I would not stop at the GC, if this is important to you. Go to the teachers, as well as the school district office to have it fixed!

I would definitely get this fixed because there is a big difference from 11 to 1 and it’s not your fault. Its theirs! Have a parent call or go to the school board. If nothing seems possible maybe they can write a letter explaining the mishap.

How do TWO teachers “forget” to input honors credits? Sounds pretty ridiculous to me…

Even more ridiculous is a counselor that says “there is nothing she could do about it”
If the school district office does the ranking why doesn’t she pick up a phone and do her job?

You can contact the district, but your school would still have to get involved in order to confirm the grading error.

I had grade issues that my GC refused to fix as well. Only by being persistent and by asking other people was I able to fix it. Do it quickly before you can’t change your grades anymore! My issue was that I was only issued 0.5 credits for AP Psychology, which is a 1 credit course.

i don’t think its that big of a deal. 1 and 11 is a little difference, especially if your in high school. I mean, really and honestly, if your trying to get into the UCs and USC you are fine.

The difference between 11 and vale is a big deal IMO. I would def pursue this issue, and don’t be ashamed to ask your parents to handle it.
