Where can I download a new sleep schedule? I only sleep for a few hours at a time.

same here, lol...about three hours 4-7am then again around 2-4pm m,w 2-6pm t,th..and then whenever i pass out on fridays....college definitely puts you on a wierd schedule

Mine too. Go to bed at 8-9pm, wake up at 3-4am. Ugh.

everyone in college has a sucky sleep schedule, deal with it.

never said it was a bad thing

"deal with it"

youre so dramatic

yaaa yaaa

I get like 9 hours of sleep every night and I'm doing really well in everything.

To re-adjust your sleeping schedule (and this is no expert medical advice), don't sleep for a whole day and then go to sleep the following night at the time you want to go to sleep every night and wake up at the time you want to wake up every day.

I understand what you mean but confusing way to word it..

haha, yes it was. Some punctuation is just gravy.

Just sleep at night, I'm not sure why you would sleep in 3 hour blocks.

Depending on how your body handles it, you can sleep more or less at night and then a bit during the day. For example, you could try for 8-9 hours at night (one large block of sleep time), or 5-8 hours at night and a 1-2 hour nap during the day (a large block at night and a small block during the day).

Personally, I hate naps, so I don't do them; I usually get 6-7 hours a night during the week, and 9-10 on weekends.

for me its just that i function better at night, i would sleep from 4-11am if i could, but i have classes at 8 am

im just weird

my sleep schedule and feelings about sleep are exactly identical to yours bluecloud

I actually was on a 12-9 AM sleep schedule for like two weeks. It was bliss I tell ya. Im back to the old 3 - 11 once again.

I found that my schedule gets really messy if I sleep past 12am.

I will get tired in the middle of the day and feel like ****, then end up sleeping a bit early that night so things work out fine later. Or I may end up taking afternoon naps and sleep late again, perpetuating the cycle of messed up sleep.

I also get more tired if I wake up late (like 11am or later), even if I get like 9+ hours of sleep.

If I'm not working, it's 4am to 12pm. If I am, it's 11pm to 4am. Sucks on the days where the two collide.

Medically we talk about proper sleep hygiene. Go to bed at the same time every night. Only use the bed for sleep and sex (the mind is pretty powerful when it comes to using the bed for other things like reading and watching tv), keep your room dark but not pitch black, keep the temperature of your bedroom about 66 or 68 degrees, avoid caffeine after 3pm, don't eat a big meal within 2 hours before you want to go to sleep, if you must nap they shouldn't be longer than 30 minutes, don't use alcohol to sleep as it disrupts your REM and stage 3 and 4 (the most rest-ful portions of sleep) components of sleep, don't exercise any closer than 3 hours before you go to sleep. If you go to bed and can't fall asleep within 30 minutes - get up, go to another room and do a quiet activity like watch tv or read for about 30 to 45 minutes until your tired and then try to sleep again.

bigred, you almost exactly quoted what my doctor gave me when i went to get my sleeping pills. which btw are gross.

I sleep about 5-7 hours during the week. Naps 1-2 days a week.

On weekends, I sleep about 8-10 hours.
