Hi guys,

First of all, my UCSD financial aid award is still showing as "preliminary" award, of which I am very concerned since it's not 100% guaranteed under the condition that the amount of $$ is subject to change anytime.

My total estimated gift aid for now is $11,935 ($11,124 from "possible" Cal Grant A and $811 UCSD grant). My Cal Grant award notification has not been processed yet (pending GPA renewal), thus I have no idea whether I will be even qualified for Cal Grant A.

What will possibly be my consequences?

One more thing. Today I have recieved a letter from UCI that I have been awarded Chancellor's Excellence Scholarship ($4000). I did a little research on it. Sadly, it's not transferable. Then, since UCI considered my GPA as good enough for such scholarship, is there a possibility that I will be also awarded the same sort of scholarship from UCSD later on?

UCSD financial aid office is not giving me straight answers. Here seems to be the place where I can get a better answer or advice. Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Are you eligible for Blue & Gold? If so, from my understanding, if you end up not receiving a Cal Grant, then UCSD will have to cover the rest of your tuition with a UCSD grant.

@amsstory yes I’m eligible for Blue & Gold and the amount of finance I’m covered is “currently estimated to be $11,124”. I don’t feel so relieved of the word “estimated”.

That number is the current cost of tuition. Blue & Gold covers tuition.

It’s an estimate because the tuition might be increasing… Haven’t you heard the news? :P

@alazyguy oh okay so Blue & Gold covers whatever the amount of tuition is going to be, but it doesn’t cover the expenses for supplies and textbook. Does it cover mandatory health insurance fees as well then?

My official award was up yesterday, and I was able to accept/decline my loans, etc.

Also, I just noticed my transcripts are already evaluated with the UCSD course equivalents listed! They accepted more of my out of state credits than I thought they would! Awesome!

^ how do we check if our transcripts have been evaluated?

under academic history.

Does anyone who’s aid was already awarded (not preliminary) have a Cal Grant number showing? I don’t :(
