Sorry for another CFA thread but here it goes...

Son is at NASS session 1 and took CFA yesterday. Today we received an email from USNA which states:

"Your Candidate Fitness Assessment Application for the United States Naval Academy has been successfully completed by Midn 3/C xxxxx."

I have read the threads stating there is no passing CFA score and yes there is a passing CFA score. Can anyone tell me if this email means my son's CFA results were good enough to be considered "passing" or does it just mean USNA got the results in his file?

i would say it just means that they have received results. not necessarily passing though. i would check with ur son’s B&G officer. he told me when i asked him. remember, a pass is a pass. i didn’t even worry about doing the CFA again after SS b/c my scores were good enough then. its just one less thing to worry about when it gets done at NASS. hope that helps!

If your son is still at NASS, wait until he gets home and ask him. He will be able to log onto the candidate website (soon if he can’t do it already), and he can see what is checked off and what is not. (Cautionary note…As a USNA mom, if your son just took the CFA, then I’m guessing he’s still at NASS. I’m wondering why email to your son is coming to you… Make sure this entire process be your son’s. It will make a difference to a BGO and interviews down the line. They are amazingly keen at ferreting this info and somehow “knowing” if a parent is overly zealous or more on top of it than the candidate.)
On the CFA itself, yes there are minimum standards that USNA is looking for. (As listed on the USNA website at this location: [USNA Admissions - Steps for Admission - Step 8) Physical Aptitude Exam](http://www.usna.edu/Admissions/steps8.htm) )
And, once it changes over as a Mid to a PRT, there are definite minimum, and there are standards that are considered “maxing” the PRT. Aim to max it; helps in OOM and in all around fitness to serve.
