I got a 185, and considering my goal of 200 would have been a lock, it’s safe to assume I’m quite disappointed. Does anyone know if my score is good enough for semifinalists? I know it goes by region, so I’m in GA. Please!! All I need is the chance.

what is this?!??!! can some one give me some info on this?

208 for CA. Severely underperformed; sophomore was a 219, 2310 on the real SAT.
The cutoff score should be around 217-220ish, yes?

^^^

Are you asking about NMSF?

This thread is about Nat’l Achievement (for African Americans).

I’m a National Achievement Semifinalist but I don’t think I will become a finalist. If I do I’ll be so happy though

^^^

Why do you think you won’t make it?

mom2collegekids,

Because I don’t think my math scores are high enough. I only got a 610 in math on the real SAT

mom2collegekids - you give wonderful advice to students on CC. I just want to alert you that many parents have already discovered that Shacoria has applied ED to BOTH BU and Vanderbilt. Just read her previous posts and you will see quite a trail of evidence. She was rejected at Vanderbilt luckily. So please - don’t sympathize with this unethical student.

Kathryn, Shacoria’s dual ED applications are very unethical…and very much against the ED guidelines. Regardless…she posted that she was trying to decide between BU and Northeastern. Really…BU gave her $55000 a year a full ride. If that is really the case, they will NOT release her from her ED contract as she has no grounds to be released. Folks here are good about pointing out flaws to try to help other students who may think these would be good tactics in the future. This student runs the risk of losing college acceptance…PERIOD. She has a full ride BU ED acceptance which she cannot get out of. She doesn’t HAVE any other choices.

I got a 227 in New York :D

EDIT: Wait, I’m getting really confused - is this the thing through the National Merit Scholarship or something else? It’s this, right? http://nationalmerit.org/nasp.php#achievement

Fossil…

A 227 is high enough for National Merit Semi-Finalist in every state.

If you’re African American, then you ALSO will be a National Achievement Semi-finalist.

Both are thru National Merit Corp. :)

Hi!
I am new to the site and have been reading posts and have been able to figure out what most of the abbreviations mean. EXCEPT ED-for the life of me I cannot figure this out. Thanks for your help.

ED means Early Decision.

Students can only apply to one school Early Decision. the app goes in early fall and the decision comes out in Dec.
