^^How much is it? AU’s website just says “Freshman applicants who were named National Achievement and National Merit finalists who designate AU as their first choice college with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation by the second week of February of their senior year.” Am I missing something?

I don’t think AU guarantees any specific amounts for its various merit scholarships. By keeping it flexible, they can vary how many awards they offer each year and what sort of student they are particularly interested in attracting at any given time. When my daughter applied, some accepted students got President’s scholarships for $25,000 and others received Dean’s scholarships for $20,000. The following year the Dean’s scholarship fell to $15,000 for new students–AU may have decided to split the money among more students or reserve more for Presidential awards. You’ll just have to apply and see what’s offered.

My daughter received $1000 per semester for 8 semesters for being a NMF and naming AU.
