NC State Deferred?

I recently got deferred by NC State through EAII. I was kind of relieved as I thought I would be denied.

I was just wondering what my chances are like for acceptance in the regular decision round.

My stats are:

Born and grew up in Ireland.
Lived in Italy, France, Switzerland and now the U.S.

trilingual (French, Italian, English)

  • SAT: 1750
  • GPA: 3.5 (Moved to america a year ago in Junior year)
  • AP's: Government, Environmental Science, English

EC:
-Played soccer for Liverpool FC Academy before moving to the states.

-Spoke at the U.N. in Geneva, Switzerland on Holocaust remembrance day

-Programmed numerous apps that are now on the app store

-Done 50 hours of community service

-Speech and Debate

-Soccer captain

-Track and Field (Sprinter)

Would really appreciate your help, especially from NC State students past or present.

Are you a US citizen or a permanent resident? It takes a while to obtain domestic status, considering you moved in your junior year. If you were considered international, did you request a lot of aid? These are possible factors that work against you.

What college did you apply to? That SAT is a bit on the low side for the College of Engineering and the College of Life Sciences.

NCSU admitted 33% of deferred applicants in the RA round, so your chances are slim but not too bad. Chances are if you are admitted, it will be to your second choice college.

Worst case scenario:
International + Engineering + Requesting aid

Good luck in the regular round!
