Need Help/ Advice...Change me i guess? Thanks

Past the application deadline? Never fear! Gunnery has rolling admissions!

You'll probably want to focus on you interview the most. For SSATs, if you have over a seventy overall percentile, then don't worry too much about whether you'll get in or not: we have several students who've made it into the school with lower SSAT's (in the fifties), but they're great people and dedicated students and that contributes to the atmosphere here.

I saw your sports post, where you stated that you're into football, wrestling, and lax, so I will elaborate a bit on our sports program.

<a href="http://portal.gunnery.org/NetCommunity/Page.aspx?pid=271%5B/url%5D">http://portal.gunnery.org/NetCommunity/Page.aspx?pid=271</a></p>

Football is big here at the Gunnery. We've had a lot of success with that. In the time that I've been at the Gunnery, I recall that we've won the colonial league twice, so I think you'd probably enjoy being a part of that program.

Wrestling has not been quite as strong. We've spend the better part of the last decade trying to rebuild a team in the midst of the emergence of several other winter opportunities which compete with us for athletes' interests (skiing, 3rds basketball, 3rds hockey…), so we've had to deal with having a squad of 5-8 athletes in the room at a time. We're always in need of lightweights. The newest wrestling coach is great: Former ISL champion who placed fifth at New Englands in 2003, really knows his stuff, and practices alongside us every day, and tries to work with us one on one whenever possible. I've wrestled for the Gunnery for three years now, and I've seen committed individuals who stick around for more than a year do well. If you wrestle, have a competitive spirit, and like to train hard, we'd be glad to have you join the wrestling family in the winter.

The Gunnery lacrosse team competes with some of the better teams around. The roster includes Division I and II opponents such as Millbrook, Pomfret, Berkshire, Trinity Pawling, Canterbury, Hopkins, Brunswick, and Salisbury. Many of our graduates go on to play at colleges such as St. Lawrence, Bryant, Wesleyan, RPI, Syracuse, and Roanoke. As it is that I row in the spring, I don't get to see much of the other spring sports, but I heard that lacrosse here competes in one of the toughest leagues around.

I hope this has helped.

Thanks alot im going to pm you ^^. Bumping this though.

Loomis offers rolling admission and like most others schools financial aid has been given out already. You sound like a great prospective student and should definitely think of applying. The football is greatly improving, bringing in a new coach, and most of the team is returning. The wrestling team has always been really strong. Many of our wrestlers earned all american honors and competed in nationals. As for Lacrosse, Loomis has a great reputation as one of the bests in New England. Many of the graduating students go on to play division I lacrosse in college. For more information regarding Loomis you can go to our website:
