[Need Help] Major

I am a new student who has recently been admitted to UCONN.

I applied to the following: -Storrs campus - 1st choice academic program: Engineering - 1st choice academic plan: Computer Science and Engineering

After admittance, I realized I was rejected/placed into: - Storrs campus - Admitted Academic Program: ACES - Admitted Academic Plan: Exploratory

I want to ‘appeal’ the process and possibly change my academic program to: Engineering and academic plan to: Computer Science. I know Computer Science is definitely the way I want to go (and not into an undecided major). How can I go about doing this?

I emailed beahusky@uconn.edu about it, but I am not sure if that is the correct place to go.

Under the circumstance that I am once again rejected, is there any feasible way I can make it to the major I want from ACES/Exploratory?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

I’m pretty sure you just have to get good grades first semester then transfer into CS

My friend (who is a junior at UConn) wanted to switch into the CS program but she got rejected. She is a good student, all As and Bs. The CS program at UConn is hard to get into. You can still go from ACES to CS, but it may be harder. If you’re not dead set on UConn or if you have another college you want to go to, then I would suggest you to go there. Going to UConn has a small risk for you. If you think you can do it, then go to UConn.
