No Interview???

Do I have any chance if I never received an interview for Georgetown? It's probably to late now, but should I call and see what is up?

yes - the interview is only offered to easily accessible applicants with alum in their area. it makes very little difference in the overall application - rarely swaying an applicant's admission decision in either direction (considering nearly every interviewer reports positively about their interviewee).

Whoa- don't be so sure of that. Georgetown requires the interview for admission consideration, so they obviously give it a definite value. Therefore, they only do not offer interviews if the applicant lives significantly far away from an interviewer. Do you live extremely far from a major city or civilization in general?

noo, everyone I know got one. However, I know a couple of the interviewers personally, and I know the head coordinator of the area and he knew that I was applying to Georgetown, and never said anything about not seeing my name. I heard that they waive it sometimes, so I don't know if it was because of a conflict of interest or something.

There will certainly be circumstances where interviews must be waived. Don't worry about it. In these weeks of so much stress, you don't need to bring more upon yourself.

I won't worry about it too much then. These weeks are definitely stressful, I just realized how soon I'll be finding out today, and it's definitely freaky!!

The interview is as much to the benefit of the interviewee as the interviewer. It is an opportunity for the prospective student to find out more about the University. Active alumni generally meet the student at a coffee shop or nearby location and conduct an informal interview. Mine was very informative. The alumnus wants to see if you will be a good fit and you want to see if the school is right for you. Much better than other college stuffy interviews.
