Norman Hall to Chemistry?

Can I make it on time? Prob not. But I have precalc/trig at 1:55 and chemistry at 3:00. Would it really matter if I were a little late to Chemistry or should I change my math to the only time I can take it, which is from 5:10?

You have an hour and 5 minutes between classes? I’ve never done that exact walk but an hour is enough time to almost go anywhere on campus. You’re probably fine but you should make that walk before classes start up so you can be accustomed to it.

No, i meant that my class are right after each other. One ends at 2:45 and other starts at 3:00. Will 15 minutes be enough?

wait until move in, walk your classes and change them if necessary…

Ohhhh, I thought you meant it ended at 1:55. Well 15 minutes is a whole different story. I agree that you should actually walk it before you switch. It may be hard to switch now anyway. I don’t think you should keep it though if it will make you late each time. Professors don’t like that.

It is doable. This past spring, I had Stats 1 at Norman (ended at 1:40) and Chem 2 (began at 1:55) at the CLB. I always made it on time. I offer you the following advice:

-After Math, don’t stay after to talk to friends, classmates, or the professor. If you have questions about the material, go to office hours. You could send an email, but it won’t work well for questions about course material.
-Walk through the Norman tunnel that goes underneath SW 13th St. It’s faster than crossing the street above ground.
-After getting out of the tunnel, bolt it to the CLB. Use a smartphone or tablet for guidance if you’re lost. That said, it’s a good idea to learn the route before classes start.
-Enter the CLB lecture hall from the back entrance (simple, but it saves a little time and ensures that you aren’t noticed if you are late).

Essentially, you want to move quickly and with a purpose. You should be on time for most, if not all lectures. Getting to the CLB as early as possible is essential if you want to find a seat easily. I was late by a couple of minutes for my second Chem 1 lecture, and I ended up sitting at the top of the stairs in the lecture hall. Good luck. I know you can do it.

thanks a lot. I was too worried about getting to class on time that I forgot about getting there early enough to find a good seat! But thanks for the little words of encouragement haha.

You’re welcome. But honestly, if someone as heavy as me can make it in time and still get a seat, pretty much anyone can. Also, you have a week to drop/add. Try it out the first week. If it doesn’t work out, then change your Math section.
