letsfigureitout....per our previous conversations...my student with the "likely letter" a while back is currently out of the country. I don't know how he accessed his email but he apparently did and got an acceptance notification from Robert Beseda and has just forwarded it to me and so perhaps that is the method you will first hear, as it indicates that the acceptance package will arrive shortly. I told you I would let you know if I heard anything and I just did, though didn't expect to as the student has no access to his home mail this week.

Thanks, soozie. My S has not heard a thing. So, we wait some more. I'm starting to get a little used to waiting. I do wonder, however, WHY IN THE WORLD schools send out acceptances and rejections across such a lengthly time period. . .and why some are e-mails and some are letters. The first notifications from NCSA were posted almost two weeks ago! I can't imagine a reason for this.

Sorry about the news, ksf. Good luck with the rest!

letsfigureitout....I truly prefer the ones that tell EVERYONE at one time (inc. all acceptances and denials) and that was how all of my older daughter's colleges did it. For my younger one, several of her BFA schools did it that way but a few did it over time (like Ithaca).

The thing with NCSA is that since it appears that it is NOT all at once....and as nervewracking as that makes it, at least you know that is what is happening and so that no news doesn't mean bad news with them.

I'm there for high school right now. all notifications should be out by friday. we find out after all the letters have been mailed and were promised a "yes" "no" or "waitlisted" by this coming friday.

R-E-J-E-C-T-E-D... lol It's alright though .. seriously.. I got the letter and it hurt me for about.. 1 min.. and then I got over it and now East Carolina.. here I come!!! I'm really proud that I got into the BFA Musical Theatre. The BFA program only accepts 10 incoming freshmen... So I'm pretty excited. Plus I thought about comparing the two and if I did have to choose I would probably go with ECU.. just because they have Musical Theatre and I can double major. Also Sandra Bullock is an ECU theatre graduate!! But not alot of people know about ECU's Acting and MT Program so when I'm there I'll keep everyone posted. But really don't take rejection to hard.. just take it.. and use it!! You never know what they are looking for, and it doesn't mean you're bad at what you do. Good luck to the rest of yall!

Great news for East Carolina!

Fighter, when I saw your post, I, too, was disappointed--for less than a minute, though, because as I read your post I could see that you're OK and have a great option! Good luck!

I guess it's good news that there was no letter in the mail from NCSA today. No e-mails, either, though. Anyone else still waiting to hear from them?

will know on friday... (fingers crossed)

Good luck moviebuff! Do they usually accept a few students from the high school class? Looks like you have some good options, with Purchase being a YES for you!

moviebuff
Do you think you'll choose NCSA if you get in

my son is in Studio Two (and was in the HS program too)- so I well remember they all walked down to the mailroom together to get their decision

wish these days before Friday would just evaporate for you !

Hang in there!!

Does anyone outside of the NCSA high school program get acceptances by LETTER, or are they always e-mails?

letsfigureitout....

I should have clarified that my student who got the email on Friday, was told in the email that his official letter of acceptance would be arriving by mail shortly. In other words, the acceptance in the email was not the official one. So, maybe some got an email as a 'heads-up' that their acceptance package would be arriving soon. But those accepted will be notified by snail mail letter. The email maybe is an extra thing....a personalized note of sorts....and perhaps not everyone accepted gets that email note but that email note was not the actual acceptance. So, I know for this kid, his acceptance will be by letter but he got a note about it ahead of time via a personalized email and not a form acceptance letter. So, I think it is a matter of just waiting for the snail mail decisions which is how they come officially. My older child who just got into grad schools, had some call or email her first before the official acceptance arrived but the snail mail is the main thing and at some schools, perhaps some get a call or email to let them know a "heads up" kind of thing but that is not the official notification and not everyone may get such an 'advance' note. That's my take on it.

My son got an e-mail from Robert Beseda saying he got in and that a letter was on the way. A couple days later he got his official acceptance from the Dean of the Drama program, Gerald F. Does everyone who is accepted get this e-mail, it was a forwarded one.

My daughter got in on Monday - no email, just a letter

Wonderful. I can try to breathe again as we wait for the mail today. We were told a letter was sent out on Monday (yes--I broke down and contacted them). My S has not received an e-mail, so I was thinking that might be bad news. We'll see!

My daughter just checked her email (we are out of town) and she actually did received an email from the school yesterday - but the acceptance letter came first! Hope this helps!

The letter came. WAITLISTED. So, that's better than REJECTED, right?

So, does anyone out there know how the waitlist works at NCSA?

actingmom, is ncsa where your daughter wants to go?

Has anyone heard from filmmaking undergrad from NCSA? I called on Monday and they said the letters were going out this past Friday or sometime this next week ;( Anyone know otherwise?

I heard back from NCSA Filmmaking today and got Waitlisted :/
